There are multiple ways to upload photos from mobile devices and desktop.
This picture was taken on an iPhone 5 and uploaded from the iPhone via full site access. This works the same way on desktop.
61920
Click the square button with the tree to insert an image.
61921
A pop up appears
61925
Choose your file and hit upload file. It will insert some code like this.
61926
Voila, your picture appears inline like the ones above.

You can also use tapatalk.
61927
Click the mountain in between the camera and bird.
61929
Tapatalk has a built in image resizer. Choose your size.
61928
It enters the same type of code and inserts your image inline.

You can also upload from forum runner.
61930
Click the + button in the upper right corner.
61931
Choose where you want to attach an image from. I chose photos. Once it's done uploading hit "done uploading" and it will ask you if you want to insert it inline. Click "insert inline" to attach it to your post.
61932
You can hit "attach from photos" again and upload more images. Then hit "insert inline" to insert the image into your post. If you do multiples, hit the + button again to return to the upload screen and hit "insert inline" again.

I'd be glad to help figure out the problem but I need more details. How are you accessing the forum? Safari? Chrome? Forum runner? Tapatalk?

i just tried selecting 5 jpg files taken with a camera. not a single one uploaded. said they were too large.

I need more details to be able to tell you why it's not working. Sizes and the way you are trying to upload would tell me a lot.

first i click this
61951
then i hit select files
61952
then i select the files. i realize they're 2.x mb each but its 2014... thats not that much space. I COULD be complaining that i can't upload my raw images that are 20mb.
61954
then i get told they're too big.

Actually I think it's telling you it has a problem with the name of the file. Can you rename one and try it again.
ahreno

nope, it's saying file is too large.

Our server will resize the images but you'll have to upload one at a time to do so. I'm looking into a better solution but for now please try that.

Tried that too with photos from my phone through the non mobile version of the site. Errored out on three different photos. Will try again later

Sigh. It works for me on iPhone 4, 5, kindle, and iPad. I will mess with more settings tonight and see what I can figure out. Thanks for helping diagnose.

I get the same thing as well on an s4
( I use and prefer the full web sight when I am mobil.) If I try to post a pic from the I phone and it is too big to post up
............ The getto solution................
#1. open the picture in your camera on the I phone .
#2 . "pinch" the picture with your fingers so it has a black border , and appears smaller on your screen.
#3 the hard part. As you pinch the image as small as you can , use all your glass blowing prowess , and take a screen shot at the same time. ( by clicking the round button and the top button at the same time you are pinching)
#4 The picture will flash big on the screen , like it did not work , but it did. Go look in your "camera roll" and the pinched pic is there in the last spot, with the black boarder .
#5 Now you have this picture with a boarder on your screen. pinch it again , and make it large to fill the screen. Take another screen shot at the same time . ( like before ,but now it fills the screen again )
#6 try to re-post it ,( the last pic on your camera roll , that looks full size) you just shaved off pixles , and quality , but now you can post it right from the I phone. I have not had this "not work" , but you could always re size it on your phone twice ,if its still too big.
edit. the newest version of ios may not have the black boarder, but it works just the same.

I messed with some more settings and tested it from Kris's phone. Maybe try again guys, I haven't had any problems from any of my devices so I'm not sure what the problem really is, but I did change some things so maybe it will work for you now. Try one photo first please.

Same thing even with a screen shot of the image. Maybe I need to try resizing it. Just wish the message gave more information

Downloaded an image resize shrunk it and it works. How big can I go?
PyroChixRock

Supposed to be able to go 10 mb and 4000x4000 max width/height per image.

I had some troubles with a few of my images getting turned sideways, I did upload 15 pictures all at once, so that may be why. the picture i attached is just a test, it was one that was turned sideways on the thread i started of my work.
Edit: I now see that all the pictures that have been turned sideways were taken in portrait on my phone. hopefully this saves someone some trouble

Yeah, the phones have a way of tricking the uploader. You can crop them square or rotate them beforehand. Since it shows in the phone as right side up, rotate it sideways, save it, then rotate it normal and resave it.
I hope the next update fixes this problem! If not I will have to dig for a fix.

Oh hey btw, if you use tapatalk they won't upload sideways. :D

I forgot I did this already, and was just taking screenshots for Skuzz. I'm going to add them anyway cause they are a bit more clear than my first post and show how to select multiple images instead of just one.
Uploading multiple pics via desktop
Hit the little image icon
83300
It pulls up this window
83301
Select your images
83302
Hit upload
83303
It attaches them inline
83304
Hit reply. Voila, pics

Can't seem to upload photos from my Samsung s7... using full site, when the popup appears, it doesn't give me the option to choose from photos already taken, just access my camera...

I don't have that version of phone to test with, are you using chrome? If you aren't opposed to an app, tapatalk has easy upload pic options for our forum.

Thanks for posting the error you received. I'm looking into it.
We recently moved servers (not my choice, our server sold us) so a few things are being weird.

Mods can we get a similar tutorial for inserting videos? Ideally on mobile and sources other than YouTube.
