I just happened to meet a good group of people who were my mentors at SUNY Empire State College. I got all A's for two years and I got to do the walk for graduation today. I feel very lucky to have met the teachers that I had. I have had bad experiences in the past with college professors. But not this time around.

nope... we don't have any special deans list or anything like that at my school I guess. I just got to graduate with a SUNY diploma.

I applied to get my masters degree next. I still have to hear back from the school. I applied to go to SUNY Empire State College for a masters of arts in liberal studies. It is online with weekend residencies at the metropolitan center in new york city.
I just received a Bachelors of Science in fine arts concentrating in drawing and painting from SUNY Empire State College class of 2014. I did not do any online work for this degree but I did a lot of independent studies and I transfered in a lot of credits from other SUNY colleges.
Thanks to all! Peace....

I hope so because my student loan payments are going to be a lot. But I have no idea what I would have done without going to school. I think that art has saved my life.

Congrats Nomad!! How many classes did you do in those 2 years? I just graduated myself, 40 straight As, so I know the struggle! I hope you get to go on! How bad are your student loans going to be? I paid out of pocket myself..but I'm taking student loans to go to Salem in the fall.

I took 8 classes that were 4 credit each. I got mostly A's but I transfered a bunch of of B's and C's also. I had to take a lot of general education and science also. Which I took in a regular classroom in a SUNY school. I only owe like $20,000 right now. So I have to pay around $150/month. I will have to borrow another two years worth for graduate school. That is $10,000/year in tuition plus expenses. I think I will extend the term of my loan to a 20 year loan and pay like $250 for my masters included.

My parents helped pay for my undergraduate degree. So I don't owe that much money right now. But they said there not helping me with my masters. I was approved for $20,000 in loans a year to go for my masters though. There is no financial aid either. Which I used to receive as well.

Yeah it's a mess. When i signed up for college i signed up for 2 degrees, but the counsiler refused to sign me up for both...then everyone let me do it, and it was in my records...but apparently not all the way, because once i completed one and was finishing the other, they hit me with academic probation, which was almost insulting. Best of luck Nomad, we're rooting for you!
