A couple of folks have brought up good points about the AVC website, so I thought I would throw this out there and ask for some feedback on likes/dislikes, problems/solutions, questions etc.

Website is www.auralens.net in case you don't know what it is.

Some background first...

About 6 months ago I changed the way the website was laid out to make it easier for our inventory purposes AND for website maintenance. We unbundled the filters and frames and now sell filters separate from the frames. Part of the reason I've already mentioned, the other part is because of the number of folks sending us their frames to put our lenses in. The old bundled method made maintenance a real pain in the ass, and our inventory system was overloaded with duplications and price differences. The only way to solve this was to sell the filters and frames separately, essentially allowing you, the customer, to set the final price based on how much you want to invest in your eyewear once you've selected your filter. Our frames are priced from about $15.00 up to about $150.00. This is pretty much the same process that you would have if you went to an optician and purchased street eyewear. Lenses and frames priced separately.

So, there it is. I will monitor this thread and discuss items as they come up.

And THANK YOU for your input!

I'd love to see overlapped graphs of the differing shades and if at all possible an overlap of "comparable eyewear" i.e. Phillips. I'm also confused by the standard strength of specific formula lenses and each of their possible shades. I can't picture a shade 2 in ; 86, 92, or 325. There are these outdated welding shade definitions that aren't applicable when you have multiple lenses in multiple shades. I have no comparable idea what a shade 2,3,4 looks like in each subcategory of either 92, 286, 325. A sliding scale pictograph in each type of lens and shade would be rad.

Please and thank you and I love your eyewear. Miss it in fact as I've been on these shade 3 Phillips goggles that don't at all entirely cut it. I thought when I was younger that I had aur92 tops and shade 3 bottom, and that since the Phillips shade 3 goggles I use aren't adequate, or I've forgotten I hae a higher shade on the bottom.
And a reiteration, I can't picture a shade 2 or 4. Thanks for making these and for your current push.

Thanks Riley.

Let me see if I understand correctly what you are wanting to see:

A series of photographs viewing through the lens at an illumination source (example: a clear 100 watt lightbulb filament) to show the differences between the shade numbers.

If it's possible then sure. What of the other suggestions I made? Can you legally put Phillips shades and your's on a graph together? Could you plot all of your lenses on a graph together? The idea of seeing the shades in a ascending/descending pictograph would be cool. Shoot all the lenses on a light table at a specific wattage light as a control (just one option/thought). All in all the website is functional for sure, it could just use an emphasis on taking the raw data you provide and expanding and clarifying it for customers such as myself.

I'm glad to see the current push you have going on providing your eyewear. It's truly a necessity to us all.

RE: comparing shades between Phillips and mine...that's a minefield I'd like to stay away from. There is history here that some of the old-timers will remember, suffice to say, I'd rather stay away from that particular subject.

Besides, my website is about my products LOL :D

I'm working on some ideas on paper right now, and will work on it further over the next week or so.

Like the website overall. Looks good easy to get through. Only thing that I think it could use is a way to see what your glasses build looks like. If there was a way you could "build" your shade 3 and then Compaare to the next step darker and its even more important with split lenses. Unless you have had the chance to use someone's splits
oureally don't know what you need or want. I have wanted them for years but lack of extra funds and worry over buying the wrong split has kept me from it. (more lack of funds but what can you do...) Anyway I think it would be nice to see and compare what you are buying. Also maybe more info on the differences of your different boro filters. The graphs wouldst blow up on my phone and even if they did i don't know enough about the filtering of uv ir to make any sense of it. Thanks for your dedication Mike. Got to say I love my aura lenses!

OK! That's a really cool idea. Off to the programming lair to see if I can figure out how to do it!!:twitch:

Ive had the same issue as seth, with not really knowing what would be best for me or how it compares tp what i have currently. I have some shade 5 clip ons in the mail tuat im going to compare to my shade 3s, im also going to pay attetion to where im looking from my glasses next time to figure out a possible split location
