Umm, Wale addressed the issue of copycating in the description. It does look like a cheap GTT with no triple mix though. Anyone used one of these?

This should explain why the barrel of the "Firebird" looks similar to competitive burners. The size and shape of the "Firebird" barrel were caused by the nature of our design and not copied from anything.

One more similarity is the position of the valves, this one is quite simple, that is where several flameworkers asked us to put them.

How do they explain why they use the same style for the hoses adapters. As far as I know until this torch only GTT's had that type of hose adaptors.

I don't think any amount of expalining will cover up what looks to be a blatant attempt to mimic the look of the most versatile small torch on the market. The Lynx.

Remember looks are not everything lol...

This was brought up a while ago I am pretty sure. Might find the old thread somewhere on here....

It looks very much like the GTT Bobcat.
The Bobcat doesn't have triple mix.

This has been a off again, on again argument and discussion for last couple of years, so what's the point.... Have not heard of GTT suing Wale for patent infringement...

the firebird retails at $225.00.9 ports.same price as the piranah or a little hand torch.the bobcat"s only 200 or so...so 2 ports more/minus the mix?????

Ha ha.
Their explanation as to why the torch just happens to look just like a Bobcat is pretty pathetic.
"Well, we copied the cooling system ... so it looks that way naturally!"
