The way I've done it in the past is figure out my raw material cost and my time spent, then double that figure for my retail price. My buddy goes by the rule of $1 per minute. When I think about the method it seems like I am underselling myself. We're both been blowing glass 2 to 3 years

It varries from area to area. East coast seems to pay more than west coast. College towns pay more. I would say the golden rule is get as much as you can. Never get less than 1/3 the retail price, most of the time you can get %40 of the retail price, but some times you can get more.
Though I've only been doing this for three years, and I worked at a headshop for a couple years before that. So maybe someone with a little more experience could chime in with a better answer...

Maybe east pays more for production, but headdies are far more pricy on Westside, where kids actually have money. The markets are just different.
