I wanted to share my thoughts on these tools. http://www.steelheadglasstools.com/
First, his claw grabbers are insanely awesome. Balanced and built so well and designed to offer replaceable fingers just in case you do manage to mess them up somehow. If you do large work, you need these!!
Second, his paddles. They aren't listed on his site though I think he should list them! (I'll try to snap a pic of mine this week to add to this) Also built well and balanced. He makes large ones, again for you guys who do larger work. And again designed to offer replaceable parts. I had him make me a smaller one, it came with two versions of the graphite, one with rounded edges and one with sharp edges.
Dan is a glass blower, and I've found that we often design the best tools cause we use them. I know not everyone does, but I keep my paddle in water. Dan thought of this as well and has changed some parts on his design to accommodate such an environment.
If you're in the market for either of these tools, consider getting them from Dan. I've been very happy with mine, and also love to support the smaller businesses. :) Also, his customer service on all the transactions we've had so far was flawless.
Thanks Dan! I hope you design more tools soon! I'm always on the look out for well made items. :)
