Recently a drunk driver stole one of our flames.

I'm sure many of you have met or heard of Shepp Avery (https://www.facebook.com/shepperd55?fref=nf), a fellow glass artist. Recently he and his fiance, Liz, were struck by a drunk driver. This tragic accident claimed Liz's life and broke Shepp's back in 3 places.

As we often do in our community, our glass family is stepping up to help. One of the fundraisers happening for them right now is a mili pull done by Rob, Carlos, and Luke. They are sending out chips to anyone who donates to Shepp as well as selling off some cane. There is more info on that here. I will post links here to them when I can but as facebook goes, we only have a 2% organic reach so I won't see them all. Please add to this thread if you have seen them and help spread the word. The Asheville Glass Center has donated their new space for a benefit for Shepp, to coincide with the River Arts District Studio Stroll, Nov. 8-9. This is a retail sales event, that receives a good turn out of people holiday shopping. Anyone who wants to donate work can either bring it to our studio or ship it to: Fireworx Glass, 97 Roberts St., Unit E, Asheville, NC 28801. If you can't afford to donate 100% to Shepp, we understand. Just let me know what percent is to be donated! I'm hoping this will encourage everyone to donate more work! Keep in mind this is a retail event, so send me the suggested retail price with your work. Unfortunately, pipes can't be donated for this event, but it's not that type of crowd anyway, so think holiday shoppers! Ornaments, pendants, shot glasses, marbles, paperweights, whatever!
