Where do you get your fuel gas/propane?

I'm curious to see where everyone gets their fuel for boro glasswork. I'm thinking about getting it from Airgas along with a cylinder of oxygen (rent).

#15 propane 25ish. those dont get refilled too often so its hard to remember the price but i know i feel a huge difference when i fill them.

if you go to a welding supply let them know you are a glass blower. barnes offers significant discount for blowers.

I got mine at K-mart tank swap cage for $20

Oxygen is from Oxarc now. S tank is $20

I just have them refilled at Amerigas places. It's 21 a refill, but every 5th one is free, so that works out to be 16.80 per standard grill sized tank. Also it's a lot closer to me than any welding supply place. We're talking the difference between a 5 minute drive there and back and a 30 minute drive there and back. I save in gas, but most importantly in time. I can do a lot of work in 50 minutes. Granted, I could just get them filled when I get my oxygen swapped out, but the welding supply store I get my oxygen from is actually more expensive with their propane than Amerigas anyways, so there's also that.

Hustle your supply company and work harder. The more gas you use, the better hustler you are the better price.

Also, the gas company does not volunteer the info that you can rent your tanks (oxygen and propane) by the year instead of by the month. Annual tank leases are MUCH cheaper...you just have to ask for it.

my company (Linde Canada) only allows year leases on compressed tanks. i have one for a T cylinder, but he said no i cant get one for my liquid tank.
