Dino Rosin WOW!! Was up in Whistler and saw some of his stuff in a gallery there and was blown away. The size of this guys pieces are unreal!! Its all solid and backed with the most amazing colours. He made this cobra piece and the rod he used looked like it was about 3-4" diameter and it stood like 2 and a half feet high!! Anyways, just thought I'd post some links if anyone hasn't seen his stuff before.

that's the calcedonia glass mang. my boss studied under him for a bit and has a couple of his pieces. they are out of hand! one of them is a giant sort of stretched lentil shaped weight made entirely of calcedonia with at least one axis switch and its got the full color range. really beautiful. the other piece is a sculpted woman about 2-2.5 feet tall and is amazing as well. apparently the color has been in his family for a loooong time.

that guitar is amazing....anyone want to loan me around 15 grand?

My wife and I were in murano 4 years ago. Of all the glass we looked at Dino's calcedonia glass was most beautiful of the furnace workers. I will never forget the surreal color, depth and size of these pieces. One piece sticks out in my mind. It was at least 3 feet tall and resembled a birdbath. It was all in the calcedonia glass. The coloring seemed to be on the back side of the glass with about 8 inches of clear as a lens. It blew me away.
The only lampworker on the island that we saw was chesere toffolo's. His work was the most inspiring and Technologically awsome work ever. It was what inspired me to take up lampworking.
Thanks for the links to Dino Rosin's calcedonia glass gallerys. I thought I would never see examples of his work again.

I've seen a lot of his work.
Most all of his work is real sick (even though most of the sculptures you will see are his "production"). I've seen a few of the cobra's, the 1 piece that realy stuck out was a 2'+ cobra w/ a diamond facet piece of glass in his mouth.

His turtles are my favorite. The fckn things are huge many are 70-100lbs+ easy.
His instruments are up their too.(with my favorites of his work)

If anyone on this board wants one of his pieces, I can get you a pretty good deal on his work (as well can point you a good direction for financing if you need it ( if you have good credit))
If I didn't have small children I would have a couple of his pieces (or should I say when my kids grow up more, I plan on having a couple)

Big tease - If you are serious about financing one of his pieces, drop me your digits in my box.
I can steer you in the right direction. (as well, can most likely get you one of his pieces simialar to the one shown on the ebay auction(and for less than 15K))
