I know that momka wrote a glass chemistry textbook, I am looking for a copy of this book. I am aware that it is not in english any help locating this book would be much appreciated. Also any suggestions for books or info related to glass/borosilicate chemistry or color making would be welcome.

I haven't seen Momka's but that would be a good one I'm sure. She is so knowledgable.

I think there might be one by suellen out there too.

Would love to know he titles of both; maybe we can add them to the library.

All I can find is that it's a text book for use in technical schools. You might write and ask her, she's generally pretty good about replying.

Momkas book does not give you info on how to make color glass.
And there is not a book by suellen either.
What are you looking to find out? There are no books that tell you how to make boro color.....

If you search in Facebook .. You will find the "Borosilicate Glass Chemistry Open Discussion group" I would link it here .. but I got in trouble for that so ..just search it .. I have been compiling as much info on boro glass chemistry as google will feed me .. Perhaps you could help .. What I have been doing .. Is searching .. Borosilicate Glass .. and then adding the specific thing that I want to know about afterwards. In your case .. Borosilicate glass UltraVoilet or something of that nature. The Old UV glass was made for Graded seals. Then look up Minerals and the types of minerals that have the qualities your are looking for. Borosilicate Uranium glass patent might help .. Here I will try it and see... This was the best link I found specifically about uranium ... I believe potassium also has a UV quality as well . but .. I haven't gotten into it yet.. ..http://www.glassassociation.org.uk/sites/default/files/Uranium_Glass_sample_article.pdf Hope this helps .. it should cover some of the basics ..

I am not a borosilicate glass worker, but I was archiving some GlassLine back issues after seeing the post that the magazine might be in trouble unless it gets some new subscribers ( http://www.talkglass.com/forum/showthread.php?58383-GlassLine-Mag&p=832686#post832686 ), and (going backwards) finally got to Volume 1, where there are three articles by Scott Dunham on mixing color.

There articles are an excerpt from Contemporary Lampworking, from the chapter "Working with color". If you the most recent edition, it should be in volume 2. Or, for a preview, subscribe to GlassLine and get access to their back issues.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with GlassLine magazine.

I wasn't aware of Momka having a book out, but I have a friend who might be able to translate it for me if I came across a copy. If anyone finds one, get with me and see if maybe we could work together? As far as Suellen Fowler, she has never published a book. What you are thinking about most likely is that she keeps her own color recipe book. I took the Glasscraft webinar with her, and she said that if you come to her normal class in NY, she gives everyone a copy of her recipe book, maybe that's what you were thinking of?
