Free for all 3RGB members (those attending the workshop and those who are not):
1) Retreat/work time from Thursday evening, June 8, until Friday, June 9 at 7 PM
(use of kilns, use of torches to the first eight responding participants -- others
will need to bring their own torch, everyone brings their own glass and tools)
2) Friday night demo and slide presentation by Milissa
3) Camping on site with use of showers, toilets, gas grill and stove (bring your
tent and sleeping bag; three spots for RVs as well)

Non-campers, please note: There is a beautiful B & B for $50 per person per night on the Allegheny River available 20 minutes away at The Barnard House, 109 River Avenue, Emlenton, PA 16373, 724-867-2261. The view is great, fantastic breakfast, and there are trails for bike riding right behind the B & B, canoe rentals for the river, historic town with antiques, so it's great to come early/stay late or bring the family.

Workshop Description: Following demonstrations and a slide presentation on Friday evening, on Saturday Milissa with cover different ways to approach making murrini and participants will create their own murrini canes. She will have some example canes already pulled to take participants through the process of coldworking, explaining the 'how and why' of this part of the process. Sunday will be focused on the different ways to use your murrini in beads. Possibilities include: 1) attaching them onto a bead, 2) making a bead out of all murrini, 3) making disc shaped beads out of 2 round murrini slumped into cup shapes and 4) a roll up with end caps to beads. Participants will come away with the knowledge to make murrini, cold working murrini and using murrini in beads.

March 1, 2006 -- Registration (with full payment) open to non-members (if space still available)

a) Your date of arrival and date of departure
b) Are you doing the retreat only, workshop only, or both?
c) Accomodations: Are you camping on-site, staying at the B & B, staying
at a motel, or driving in each day?
d) Torch -- Do you want to use a torch at the facility or bringing your own?

NOTE: This is a rare opportunity... she avoids teaching since she did it for about 15yrs and now rarely takes on a class... and the price is right. Most of the ladies from 3RBG are pretty nice folks and of course Tom and Elayne are good at hosting these kind of things... so try and catch this one and learn how to go nuts on canework. I won't be there because of another class that I'm in at the time... but if I can sneak up for one night I will.

If you are unfamiliar with Milissa's work... look it up on GA.org... definately has to be seen to be believed. In my mind, she has done some of the best fusing and flameworked objects that I have ever seen.
