I have a large pallet of new borosilicate glass vials (Kimble / Gerresheimer) I would like to sell. I have been to some glass color manufacturers who crush borosilicate tubing to make their rods. If you are interested in this please contact me. I'll try and get an approximate weight for the pallet, if interested. If there are some who would like a "brick" or a few, I can do that too. There are two sizes of vials. photos here for the 29 ml size. (20 X 145mm) I also have a smaller 13 ml vial (16.5X100mm).

I'd take 5 of each to play with!
I understand if this was too small of a quantity for you to sell, if so how much for a "Brick"

and if you don't want a whole "brick", OG Glocc, let me know i'll happily split it with you.
i've already got ideas for what i can use those threaded ends for. assuming i can find a cap that fits them.

^^^same thing I was thinkin! These are manufactured parts so I'm sure there are caps out there!^^^
Very interested in splitting a brick! Maybe even possibly a brick of each size?!?! Let me know!

Even better...a brick of each size split would be great :)
i can send paypal as soon as tomorrow am (payday).
how much are you asking for a brick? and where are you located (shipping)? I was thinking these might be good for people making glass torches.

if someone is good enough machining graphite they could duplicate that glass vial head, and then could make worked female lids with it.

good idea, with a drill press and tap&die probably get a mold made fairly easy. well i guess if you are just duplicating the vial head then you would only need a graphite rod and a threading tool. I'm not sure if thats the tap or the die?

the tap is the part needed to make the inside threads....right? lol....i think the die makes the outer threads. but then again i'm usually bass-ackwards.

I have a hook up on graphite machining. If there is a market (6+orders)ie people who would buy the molds im sure my connect can make them up. I would guess the cost to be less than $75. I could get a quote if I had a sample or detailed spec sheet w/ tolerances. I think this would be a good idea for a lot of projects.

graphite rods are cheap.<5$ depending on size. tap & dies are cheap <20$ graphite is extremely easy to work. just sayin. lets stop pooping on this sales thread.
I would like to buy some.

What about caps?

i don't think this is considered pooping on his sales thread, as people are discussing ways to get the needed caps (or the proper thread size to make some) which would in theory, allow even greater interest in these.

OK, here's some more specs:
Caps part numbers (common, do a google search) If you have an Industrial Container store, they stock them. Small vial cap is P/N 15-425 black phenolic cap. Large vial cap is P/N 18-400 black phenolic cap.
To ship these, figure the large brick is 11 lbs, without packing materials. the small brick is 8.3 lbs without packaging materials. You could fit a brick in a large flat rate box of either size. I don't know if I'd recommend the Large flat rate box, because it will not leave much room for padding. May get breakage. I'd figure using the LFRB for an inner box though. By the way, the small vial has 283 vials per brick. The large is 203 vials. I am not to anxious in selling any less than brick qtys at this time. I'm interested in selling these for $19 per brick. I have about 40 bricks of small, about 60 bricks of the large. When they are gone, that's it. Typically vials like this sell for $.25 -$.60 each. They are great for beads and findings storage too. Thanks for the interest!

Kimble is the best for fuming\growing crystals , could make sick honeycombs out of those.

Cool, make some up for us. For me machining graphite is a pain and makes a mess/ hazard in my studio. Maybe Im not doing it right. Maybe you could start a new thread and elaborate on your technique so as not to not "poop" on anyone elses sales.

I can't wait for these to show up!
BTW
the thread size is in the Part Number Small lids are 15-425 thread finish and Large are 18-400 thread finish... looking for a die right now since I already have graphite rods laying around I bought to turn in to old ball stuff just like this! If anyone has a link for one of these thread sizes in a die please let me know via PM! I haven't finished looking but all leads up until now are gone...(mainly cuz i don't know how to convert the thread size to die size, any help appreciated!)

so what are yall planning on doin with these? it would be cool to have a drain hole on tubes with percs so you dont have to pour the dirty water out the top. practically any water piece would benefit from having a drain hole near the bottom i think. i have access to a mountain of these things as well have been wanting to do something with them for a while.
