So, I went to Mountain glass today in Ashville, NC. Now, we don't have glass distributers on every corner like you folks out west, so after almost 7 years in this biz this was only my 3rd time visiting a distibuter (I'm exactly 2 1\2 hrs from both mt. glass and Generations for those of you who are hanging on to my everyword waiting for the story to get good). Needless to say, I was like a kid in a candy store with a fat wad of disposable loot in hand. Being responsible I head for the boring ole tubing first instead of color and tools. I grab a case of 32 \ 4.0mm by a sole nylon band ( you know, the ones that take about 10 min. to remove if you lack a razer) and yes you guessed it, halfway to the cart SMASH, see ya case of tubing (well 1\3 of it anywho) (Thanks Mt glass for splitting the difference with me). So Maybee from now on I'll keep my ass at the torch and wait for UPS. Just a little story to make the dumbest thing you did today not seem so bad!

For those of you who are still with me here is an interesting extra. I prefer, like most of us to buy quality and or american supplies. I also like to try just about all the stuff out there. So when picking my tubing today it was between kimax (Jersey) and That Url stuff(china). I wasn't completely comforatable with it but went with URL for the "experiance".
I guess that's what I get for goin against the gut

i'm guessing url is UST..

those straps really do make bad carrying handles (lots of boxes tell you not to)

i've used ust and kimax, and they're about even in my book. both have their issues imo. anyway..

i wish i had a distributor around me =)

Could have been worse, at least it wasn't dicro tubing.

Nice of them to split the difference with you.
Well, At least the tubing wasn't high explosive material that detonated when it hit the ground.

It could be worse - good thing you aren't on Mars, and that tubing wasn't shipped at high expense across space!

At least silica the most common material on earth, and glass is relatively inexpensive.

Be thankful you weren't in a nuclear reactor, charged with conducting highly time sensitive emergency repairs with boro tubing in the middle of a near meltdown situation when you dropped that stuff.

At least there weren't a bunch of dangerous snakes in side the tubing that escaped when you broke the tubes.

It could be worse, gravity could have spontaneously reversed itself and the tubes could have hit you in the face!

Still smiling after reading that one.
