Just wondering if anyone knows the best concentrator to run the gtt cricket on? I'm currently using tanked oxygen and figured since I'm using such a small torch I might as well get a concentrator. Any suggestions? I would like it to run as close to tanked oxygen as possible. :D I would eventually like to have a home fill system from salt city to run a GTT phantom on but that is at least a year in the future. Right now my only issue is if I get a 10/20 concentrator from salt city will it be a waste on the home fill because it only fills at 2lpm 15psi?

i have 2 oxy cons available an 8lpm and 5lpm both set at 8psi i was running to my centerfire of scorpion(cricket) and i couldnt tell a differenece between tanked and on the oxy cons. no way the oxy cons were gonna power the outer fire but in your case thats not a problem. i had hooked up my bravo centerfire which is an alpha to a single m-20 concentrator 20psi 10pm because i was maybe going to run a single m-20 on each centerfire and tanked on outer and a single m-20 wasnt enough to power the alpha centerfire it took both of the m-20 it was more than what was needed and had the centerfire running liked tanked but a single one wasnt enough to get it running like tanked. i have both oxy cons the 8lpm and 5lpm available for 300 plus shipping you can run your torch off these with it working like tanked and if you did decide to get a homefill you could use one of these up to it? i honestly wouldnt even go with a homefill if you plan on running the cricket for a while oxy cons can power it just like tanked and who knows where youll be in a year or maybe my lifes just like that but once you get to bigger torches like phantom and up id look into running oxygen system with holding tank and compressor over home fills guess it depends on how often your torching also. hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I'm definitely gonna just run the cricket on a concentrator. Once I have that running ill worry about the phantom , definitely not gonna be able to do tanked oxy on it tho seeing as how the closest place is 40 mins away haha. Holding tank and compressor does seem like the better option over homefill tho, definitely gonna have to do my research on them. Thanks again :D

get the biggest LPM you can, you will be glad you did.

Im running a cheetah on a 8lpm 15 psi borofire815. It runs the cheetah just fine, not blazing but can work 32mmx4mm tube good enough.

For fun I hooked the cheetah and the Bobcat up to the oxycon to see how it did with both torches running, well that's just not going to work. :D

Alright so I'm probably gonna get salt city's m-20 concentrator, I assume it would be a bit overkill for the cricket? Eventually id like too hook up one or two or there home fills to the m-20 for when I have a phantom, is that possible?

Entirely possible. The concentrator will save you enough money Vs buying tanked oxygen that you will be a be to afford a Phantom. That's how I bought my Cheetah upgrade from a Bobcat.

I ran an airsep newlife intensity 8lpm / 20psi to supply the cricket. I made all my first milli on this setup.

I had an old m20 10lpm 20psi concentrator which I ran the inner fire cricket on my scorpion from, while tanked on the outer for a while. It is def enough to allow you to work the cricket pretty well for some time until you make your next step, and with the 10lpm if you did end up getting a homefill compressor, it could technically power up to two. A scorpion could run damn well off of what a homefill provides though. I currently have my phantom running off of a bank of 3 K tanks hooked into it. I recently got a foot pedal which I hope helps me use less oxy too as a homefill only can fill about a half a tank per a day. I notice it is taking me some habit breaking to remember to use the pedal though! Hah, I'll find myself in the middle of wasting outer flame oxy all the time by forgetting I have the pedal to use and turn it off :P LOL

You won't be super disappointed with a 10lpm 20psi system for it for a while anyway, certainly even more so if you rig up a holding tank to help with flux and give it a little top end boost if it needs it for a min. You might have to run it at like 8lpm to get a better purity though for a hotter flame keep in mind.
