I haven't had a chance to play with this one yet, but I know that there will be others keen on playing with a new idea. Craig Nagami's father (his name escapes me) gets the credit for this one. When they have to measure and mark glass, they touch one warm tip on a pair of calipers to the end of a grease pencil (china marker, wax pencil). This will leave a mark on the hot glass. A black grease pencil will leave a mark that is invisible when the glass is cool, but quite visible when the glass is hot. This could be useful in making signature chips and the like. A white grease pencil holds even more promise, as the white is titanium dioxide (the same as the borostix white) and works for permanant marking of the glass. No stress issues.
I still plan on developing my flame fired glass colouring paints when I have the time and a few $ to spare, but for now, ...

Any office stationary store should carry them. I am really keen on trying this. I also heard the yellow ones leave a visible mark and the red ones leave an invisible mark, but I don't know what is in them.

So I got a white China marker, and I think the new ones are made with tin oxide. It dosen't work right.

i bet you can find in internet source
I use grease pens all the time for my other passion: restoring classic aircooled vehicles (currently working on a '64 microbus and probably getting a '68 Porsche 912 soon), they're great for marking sections that need to be cut out for rust repair, as well as holding up to the heat of a oxy-aceteline torch... I get them at the local hardware store for $.75 each. They're easy to identify because they have a string hanging out by the tip that allows you to remove the manilla paper looking wraps when the tip gets too short.
