Has anyone ever tried trapping soot under clear? Will it stay black under the clear or just burn away?

Pretty sure it will burn off before you are able to trap it. One cool thing you can do is soot up a tube, then scratch whatever you want into the soot, and then fume it. The soot acts as a mask for the fume so your design is left behind.

no way, sounds awesome, cant wait to try.
If your into that you might want to try the glossy magazine fume tech. If you have not tried that it's pretty cool for sure.
I have never tried it but have seen plenty of pics of it .

I have trapped soot when working with soft glass, sometimes on clear and sometimes on white.
I believe I did not have enough oxygen in my mix.
