So I have two tanks. one fills while I work off the other. A couple days ago, I went to shut the valve on my work tank, but closed the one that was filling instead (I was tired).

So It ran like that for a day. with the valve on the tank closed. When I went to check on it it was making a noise like " sqeek-a squeeka squeeka squeek". I opened the valve and shut the system down. later I started it back up and it ran fine and filled for 300psi. Then again with the squeeka and no filling. it has about 5000 hrs on it (the compressor).

Ideas. help. I'm pretty fucked right now.

Thanks

Do a little search on here about it, I know few people have asked about skeeq skqueek in last few months.
It happened personally to me, but luckly I had a spare homefill and never tried fixing the other one. 5000 hrs is a lot on a homefill tho.

I'm going to venture a guess and say that one of the several check valves are stuck. do you know the "bang on the brass rectangle thing with a wrench" trick?

My homefil is a fussy unit too. Iv beat on shit and everything else, I think mine is just a lemon. the thing pisses me off.

It's either a piston ring or the check valve. Try the 'suck/whack' tec before ordering the new piston ring.

the problem is there are 5 piston rings or 1 for each stage...

here's the famous vid
