3mm glass rods fit in Lego peoples hands, and in the lego hooks.

I took him with me to pick up some colored tubing from D&L, and on the ground in their warehouse, he found himself a piece of 3mm clear rod no longer than 3 or 4 inches. He brought it home with him, and apparently at some point tried to fit it into a Lego persons hand, and it fit perfectly. I'm thinking tiny glass light sabers that glow for Lego people here, but never mind that now, what does he do with it? He gets a few parts, including a small lego fire piece, and he makes me a tiny glassblowing set up with a lego torch, and a lego lathe holding a 3mm piece of glass rod right in front of the torch. Freaking hilarious.

Now if you could just get him to do some production work!

Oh I am proud, and I have taught him some simple prep work. He's only 11, so no torch work for him just yet, but he has expressed an interest in learning, and I do plan on teaching him slowly until he's old enough to work that torch, then teaching him full on.

Nice, cant wait til my kids can be a little more hands on. My little girl really likes to put on the glasses and watch me melt.

Looks like I'm gonna have to take more Lego pics. It's really hard to take pics of Lego's. The lighting and camera settings have to be just right, and even then tons of blurry ones have to be weened out. It'll take a while, but I'll post pics. In the mean time, here are some of the pics of the Lego compound we built that it went inside of.... It takes up our large dining room table and about half of our living room at the moment, and that's just the compound, it doesn't include any of our fleet of vehicles that we built.

It took about 3 weeks to build it all, and on those final days, I put it all together and set up both tables in the living room, with colored sheets and blankets for an ocean, and a mountianous region with a volcano, and dragons, and all the vehicles were set up and stuff, and then I went and picked the kids up from their mothers with the entire living like a Lego fantasy land. They freaking loved it.

I made a sword shaped dabber for my shop a few years ago, and my shopmate just figured out a few days ago that it is a PERFECT fit in Lego hands as well. He has a Lego Hagrid (Harry Potter) keychain, and the sword couldn't fit more perfectly in his hand, and the proportions are just about perfect as well! lol.

And here it is. I wanted to take pictures of it inside the repair and mechanical section of the compound, but that would have been way too much work.
