Well, I had received all my stuff about a week and a half ago.

Only had minuscule amounts of O2 left in my tank, got about an hour and a half into melting, and I ran out.
Signing a contract with the company my uncle got his tank from so I can take it over within the next week and let me tell you... I've been itching to start up again to do something.

First day was just me in awe that I finally had everything and that I had a giant amount of frit, clear, and color samples.
Played with my marver, blew out a couple bubbles, made a loop for a pendant, did some flame cuts, and flame polished my ends.

As soon as I get that oxygen refilled, I'm going to start twisting color, blowing out some actual usable blanks, and possibly make some custom tools to help with my "rotation control" seeing as I still do not have that down completely (Curse you small untrained hands)

PS: on a side note, is there a place on this forum that we can start like a... Journal type thing?

I wouldnt build a custom tool thats going to help you not gain basic skills like rotating evenly. You can post in the "pics, galleries, and websites" section. alot of poeple have progression threads in that section.

I agree with Herb, don't skip your basics!

If you want to practice while away from torch take two 6mm rods and tie together with a ribbon. Try to rotate the rods without twisting up the ribbon

I actually do that for my students. Take two rods and make a hook on the end of them. Then tell them to stretch a rubber band between it and rotate without twisting.

Good idea. I'll have to make a set of those to practice with. Thanks!
