So about 2 days after my 24th birthday I got the opportunity to work in the Witch Dr.s studio in Salem mass. I ended up making two chaos fume pendants and they ended up wanting to sell them there for me! I was super nervous, I used all my gas and glass, but the owner told me to just come in and have fun and use whatever materials I want. I'm super grateful and excited that I got my first items in a store, and even more so I got to make them in the shop itself. Everyone there are the nicest people, so much love for them. Heres a picture of one of them, didn't get a good shot of the other but they're really similar. Thanks for looking guys! hope this is thread worthy...

Herb, if you can find any fuming class or any class for sculpting that's labeled as an intermediate or advanced level in our area, please let me know! (Send me a PM or something, I'd likely also want to go!) Every month or two I look around, and can find nothing but beginner classes that seem like they wouldn't provide any value to me at all.
Also, yeah, congrats on your first piece in a store!

Cool, thanks - friend request sent via fb.
Hadn't heard of fiamma - I'll keep them in mind when I go a-huntin for classes. I usually check worcester center for arts and diablo. Prism and snow farm are both a bit further than I have any interest in driving. (My daily commute to work is an hour and a half... driving any further than that makes me grumpy, hah.) I've heard of diablo what my own opinion is of worcester center for arts - great for a complete noob, but really nothing in the way of intermediate or advanced study.
Gotta also say... with the username herb chambers, I always pictured you in my mind as a 40-something used car salesman. That you're seemingly a regular 20-something guy on your facebook profile, hah, made me do a double take. (What would be the equivalent expression of "mind blown" but, like, taken down three notches. "double take" doesn't quite seem the expression I'm looking for, but its the best I can come up with.)

ha that made me smile, noone thinks I blow glass or have much to do with the community. Herb Chambers is a little play on words. The friend That got me into glass told me years before I started glass that if either of us ever started to make glass pipes we would have to call it HerbChambers ha. I've never been to fiamma but I guess they're about as local as diablo is. They probably have an instagram or website worth looking at, even though I havent looked for either.

Hah, you know... I just never thought about the play on words there. Friggen obvious once it's been pointed out, hah, nice. I did always assume you were somehow associated with the car dealership.
I did just check out the fiamma website - they do seem to have some intermediate to advanced classes, very interesting. I also just sent them some questions... some of their classes specifically say soft glass, but some of em don't say either way. I don't really want to assume it's boro, given that I've no interest in soft glass. But I've kinda been in a rut with glass, maybe a class is exactly what I need.

definitely could be. I know for a fact they do boro stuff at fiamma though.
