then what?
i tried this last night, but the wig wag wound up on the wrong side of the glass.. i wigged the cane (Northstar Marlee iirc) with diamond shears, got it to terminate in a nice taper, then melted it and let it spread across the back of the marble. but the image underneath the "lens" of clear was just a plain cross-section of the cane i had applied with no wigs in it.. instead the backside was wigged nicely and would have looked superb underneath a lens, but.. well.. it wasn't.

Momka Marlee, but that's besides the point. What are you trying to do? Wig-wag, or a reversal?

That's what I though. My cable was down lastnight starting at 4:00pm. Some digging crew broke a cable. :bangHead: Wasn't back on till this morning, then I couldn't get on Nabisco.
I think the reason the lens was just showing a cross-section is because the inside of a cane is hollow.... If I'm understanding correctly.

yea, you need the clear center to the cane for the design to be seen through the lens.

I take a rod add my color lines to it...(from the top, about a half inch or so down the rod) heat it up and pull it out a bit, not a stringer. wig-wag it. melt it all back into a ball... keep heating until you have about half clear and the other half the wig-wag. once you do that, get a nice ball and press the heated ball flat on yer pad and make a disk( like you were gunna do an implosion). you should come out with a sweet wig-wag on one side and the lens on your rod side. punny up your wag peice, melt off the rod and round it out. do what you want with it from there ;-) hope this helps...
peace,
Dave
