If by old school corning pyrex, you mean 7740 pyrex brand borosilicate tube and rod, I'm pretty sure glasscraft, Wale, and colored sands all carry it. If you mean Pyrex brand bakeware...check wally world.. :dieslaugh

Are you talking about when it was still made in the US? If so, I don't know if there is any of that left.

Corning stopped making Pyrex tubing and rod in the US a while back.

Do you have a job that requires extrusion lines going down the sides or some thing? :-) 'Cause if that is the case. pyrex is perfect for that.

Is this a case of someone being afraid to try something new?

Senz, if you're just looking to keep the same glass you've always used...hate to say it, but... time to switch to something new, an available. Try some Kimble or Simax, you'll like it.

I remember that stuff..used it for years, but when it wasn't present, it was great glass.
Kimble is now being phased out from my distributor, so I'm forced to use simax, that may sound bad, but its not, its cheaper...longer lenghts...but some of the kg33 artist series was like butter of the colored glass today, still have some.
To bad now when I do a clear piece, I have to consider sandblasting it, unless its optically clear.

I am still in search of corning pyrex 25.4 hvy ....Thanks Yinzer,Izzyspun generation-kt or if I remember correctly "Cristian Turley",Liquidcolor,Mindblowingglass and jedi Glassworks .. and for those curious why ./?? the reason being is because of its chemical makeup ........................! and as far as its problems ....Well worth it.... if you dont know why then you dont know ... Yes Simax works like butter, blah blah blah ,,, Kimble is Kimble ,,, Blah blah blah ,,, Schott, the same ,, for me those are in close to the same catagory...................................... Corning Pyrex is not in the same catagory .. I know i can hear some of you now saying "YEA ITS IN THE SHIT CAT. " FOR me IT's a real bummer ... Hopefully some company will use close to the same chemical makeup for tubing ?????? :bangHead:

Kimble is the closest to the old Corning glass now (which is actually closer to the new formula for Corning but without the lines and seeds). Corning Pyrex tube is now made in China.

You might want to call Bob Snodgrass. I know he used to stock up on certain batches of Corning. He would always try to by entire lots from certain times of the year.
