Hey guys,
So first off the oxy con in question is an airsep newlife intensity, a friend left this at my shop said it wasn't working quite right and I could fiddle with it, well I just ran out of oxy and airgas is closed so I figured why not try it out, I hooked it's hose directly to my barb for inner oxy. Seemed to be working blowing oxy through it at a pretty good rate, but when I introduced propane and tried to light it, the oxy keeps putting out the flame or makes this weird hovering flame, only time it worked was for like two seconds when I turned it off. Anybody got any ideas?

Sounds like it's just blowing air, not oxy. If that's the case, the sieve beds need to be re-poured. Have you tried turning it down to 5 or 6? Also, make sure you let it run for 15 minutes or so, first.

Thanks for the reply that's what I was guessing it was doing, I'll try what you said, thanks man

Thanks man, I got it to work fine, but it doesn't have enough pressure to run my inner fire properly it's at maybe 10 psi, , any ways to crank the pressure up on these guys?

You can get an oil less compressor and a tank, and compress the feed from the concentrators in to the tank and hook the tank to the torch. This will let you get a higher pressure and much more consistent flow, it was a very noticeable difference to me.

Awesome thanks man, what kind of tank / compressor do you use, that sounds like a good fit for me.

Right now, I'm just using a Gast oil less compressor I got on ebay, and a well cleaned 10 gallon portable air tank. The cleaning is important because at high pressure and high purity, oxygen can self combust with oil. From everything I've ready, you won't even really approach the pressure or purity of oxygen required for this reaction from an oxy con, but it's still probably best to play it safe.
I got a compressor rated to 100 psi because I'm planning to use it to rig up a high volume low pressure oxygen setup soon when I get a larger storage tank, but if you are just using it to stabilize oxy flow, you only need a pump rated as high as the max pressure you want at the torch.
The one other thing that's important to check is the input air volume that the compressor expects. Be sure to match it so that the output of your concentrator fits with the input the compressor wants so that everything works as expected.

The Airsep Intensity is a 20psi machine. You sure you don't have another model, like a Newlife, or something? Cranking up the factory set pressure will cause the purity to drop.

It says airsep intensity newlife so you may be correct
