This is my personal space, welcome to my personal space. :twitch:
Some background info; started lurking sometime 2014 and early 2015 I got in touch with a local artist for a 3-hour torch session along with a friend who's also interested, long story short it was the coolest thing I've ever experienced in terms of artistic mediums. I'm really just used to pencil and paper which I find to be way too boring but glass! glass is not boring. Seriously I have unfinished drawings dating back 6 years ago in my sophomore year of highschool but i digress lol. We cleared my friends garage, set up shop and 7 months later here we are. Most of this thread will be my work but I'm featuring my shopmate Big.Errl.Corleone's work as well time to time. criticize the shit out of me plox
Mostly made dabbers, marbles and some pendents when we started but a lot broke without me taking a pic

All three of these sherlocks broke which sorta leads me to believe they might be out of my league

Some progress on a personal endeavor to make jawbreakers but I'm lacking the color pallet at the moment and this cadmium scare bullshit couldn't have struck at the worst time :\
This jank was made a month on the T

Nice start! Those spoons look well shaped, better than what I can do atm. Love the jawbreaker idea and the pendants look really really good. I can't tell how good your loops are but if they are sealed good I wouldnt be suprised if you could sell them.

That jawbreaker idea was clever! spoon shaping is on point also!
Jawbreakers are looking spot on. I'd say try doing a spoon with a cap on the front if sherlocks are giving ya trouble still, great way to see how flowed together two hollow pieces should look/feel

check this out, it'll probably help with the seals. I know bridging was a lightbulb moment for me, hope this helps.

The bails are attached pretty snug so they're not going anywhere, just needs better shaping, along with the jawbreakers themselves but thanks for the kind words! Won't be selling them yet but eventually they'll get there. I'm currently looking for a brighter, poppier blue to use so color suggestions would be appreciated! I tried NS light blue cobalt and it comes out too transparent; also tried borobar lazuli and it's seems good, might go for Bb Caribbean blue next, anybody have experience with these borobars? They're cheap as hell

This was a response to the sherlock, not the bails. Jawbreakers look cool man.

props lol. wasnt thinking to revisit a revere video but as it turns out it was my lack of bridging and I wasn't reheating and blowing into the seal.
Made a clear attempt with mai tai dots to make it less boring.

It took 2 unsuccessful attempts but I made my first water piece, a small "oddly" shaped bubbler.
also have some recent pieces on behalf of my shopmate, a rig and a fumed cob pipe.

Been a little bit, haven't blown glass for about 2 months due to a summer job i got at my towns community pool, but seasons over and glassblowing has been my preoccupation since. Purdyglass made a stop by at LIG this past week, took his class and wow; informative is a total understatement
got some glass to show. some of it's before the summer

Crazy how 2 years can fly by so fast. Thought it'd be neat to show you guys some progression I've made on my glass journey since the last time I've posted.
I've been making flipped one hitters for the last year now. They're hard to make but really gratifying when they're done! Flips have been really kicking my ass, A LOT of wasted glass has gone into practicing them.

Working on a MF DOOM cut and flip and I can't help but share the process. Spent about 4 days on just drawing and now it's time for the main event (the cut and then the flip) just as soon as I get my oxy refill.
EDIT - I can't post or view any photos in this thread. I don't know why that is :(
