Good Afternoon Guys, Gals, and all affiliated Glass heads

My name is Joe and I am pretty new to the industry. I have not jumped on a torch yet but I have been trying to do my best to learn as much as I possibly can from the people around me. I know some really talented local artists and they all seem to tolerate my presence even while I ask super odd questions. I am currently ingesting Bandhu Dunham's Contemporary Lampworking series and I cannot recommend them enough to lamp workers of all skill sets. Bandhu does a great job at making the process of lamp working more approachable and also gives phenomenal detail about how glass has developed beside the progress of humanity.

Some things about me:

I am a huge nerd. I try to read and consume everything I possibly can about a subject when it enthralls me.

I've got cats and they're pretty durn amazing.

I try to help people as much as I possibly can.

I hope this introduction is not as awkward for you as it was for me but then again I feel like I am always awkward just because.

Welcome aboard man, you should fit in fine here!

The search tool is useful, but there's so much here it can be hard to find what you need especially when you're not sure what terms to use, so if you need help with searches feel free to ask - some people here have bigger egos than they've earned and might give you shit, just ignore them (or report them, I love checking unworthy egos!)

Feel free to PM me or any other mod if you need any help navigating the forum at first.

Not as awkward as the clear imprint of genitalia in the chip dip at a party.
If you're just starting check out the newbie room. Also the similar threads section at the bottom of each thread is a great way find what you're looking for, and as Doug said don't hesitate to ask for help
welcome to the party be sure to try the dip!
