Great FREE educational opportunity at Champs Vegas this February. We will have all the way from Germany, Maximillian Arnold and Thomas Seyffert from Herbert Arnold along with Paragon Kilns CEO Todd Lokash to give hands on working tips and information on their equipment.

This will be located in our booth next to the Champs Trade Shows Glass Games and is open to anyone and everyone in attendance. We have arranged with Champs for the first time ever, to allow any glass worker into the show without being a registered buyer or vendor. All you need is the postcard flyer we have printed and they will let you in to take advantage of this great opportunity to meet and learn from the makers of these wonderful burners and tools. You can get a postcard with an order from ABR or call and have one sent to you. Show the postcard up front and you will be given access to the Glass Games.

We will have Herbert Arnold burners and a lathe along with Paragon kilns running with the chance for glass workers to get hands on experience and observe the way these torches are meant to be run. Take advantage of their generous visit from Germany to learn from the pros!

They came to Glassroots several years ago with those Herbies that didn't use air, which sort of sucked. But, I don't think they've been back since. This will be a full on demo of a Zenit, on a 60mm lathe, plus a selection of all the grabbers, tools, rollers, etc. that they offer. It's going to be a great place for Q & A on the ins and outs of working with their torches and lathes

So other than this, is Champs worth attending for the education aspect?

I'm hoping I get my day job sales bonus at the end of the month. So thinking of flying out from TX.

Champs is definitely a unique look at the industry. It's pretty widespread in it's content. Not all perfect, but still the biggest buyer density of any show. The Glass Games is great too. You can watch people up close compete for big cash and prizes. The lineup in the Games this time around is pretty good. It's not quite the Banjo/Buck collab days of old, but definitely a great event still. I'd definitely check it out if you can.

In 2003 the Herbie reps came to Seattle for the GAS conference and tuned a bunch of torches, I believe they were in Eugene a yr or 2 later, I think.

So turns out I will be stopping into Champs. And Glass Vegas. It's gonna be a blast!

Btw, for the record, it's an expense. Thanks to all who suggested an accountant :)
