I figure I can just push air into the lines running into the hoses of a gtt. ????

I wouldn't recommend doing this, because compressed air isn't for mixing with/replacing the oxygen...

If you can explain how that would be any different than using a gtt with compressed air option. Which adds air into the oxygen or fuel line.

Proper check valves should be in place, but other than that, I see no issue with doing it, and have done it myself with the propane line.

I've heard of folks mixing air into the fuel gas line. Not oxy though.

OK I think that's where I was mistaken... I thought gtt was adding it to the o2 but I think you're right it's just the propane...

It was more of a pain in the ass IMO, fiddling with all the extra knobs.

I have Delta and upgraded it to the compressed air option. Its got some great uses and worth the money to send it to gtt. 2+ weeks is the hard part. If you add air yourself you will battle pressures. The air will push the fuel back and you lose your heat. You need the Air to mix after the fuel valve for it to work right.

Yes. True.

For that reason I left my main propane knob on the torch wide open. And I added a needle valve at the Y'd in section. So on one leg of the Y there was the compressed air needle valve and on the other leg was the propane needle valve(plus the check valves on each). You could even take the main propane knob off the torch and just plumb it straight in from the Y.

I had to try it myself for around 50$ or less before I would commit to not only sending my torch off but the price tag. Glad I did because I wasn't interested

The gtt add on can put air into all three; blue green and red,, so......

And for the air oxy side, I figure the air pressure has to be higher than the oxy or you'll just pump oxy back into your air lines. But air pressures let's say 45 psi, 5 higher than the oxy if it's set at 40 is a lot of air pressure and I see it blowing it out.

Not red blue green.....

Just air into propane for each stage of the torch.

Ohhhhhh. The knob layout made me think each went with its row.

Sry everybody.

Why do two stage torches have three air knobs?

Never seen it, got a pic?

Jason Howard says a lynx with air is not worth the struggle.

So it seems like a two stage only needs the outer air. (*Cough* It has inner AND outer. )

son of a,,, only 2. ive gotta get out from under this rock.

i had an ida that i posted in the paradigm thread that since the air goes into to the lowr pressue area of the manifold rather than into the pressurized lines that behas fferently and doesnt blow it out. someone over there used an adjustable propane reg as the knob to inject the air into inner more successfully.
