Hi all.
I need to make what is essentially a 22mm bead. That is with a 22mm inside diameter opening. Outside diameter doesn't matter.
Curious to hear the different ways people would go about this.
In the end I need a ring that fits a 22mm diameter item.

find a graphite rod 22mm to use for reemining the bead..... i'd start working the bead on 25 mm tube so you can reduce and finish with 22 mm diamiter inner wall

Depends on how close it needs to be.
A graphite rod 22mm would be sweet but another method would be core forming.
Its Just like how a regular bead is made but bigger.
There is a chapter on it in Contemporary lampworking volume II chapter 13.
You could drill it out of solid if you wanted, like a nice marble or something.

Saw cut 25.4mm ? adjust as needed.
If it needs to be perfect , I would start with tube that's super close.

Core forming, steel wool drenched in bead release is the easiest way to do it fairly precisely
If you're not married to boro you could fuse frit in molds like some trade beads are made
You can buy 20mm ID steel tubing online and try to bead release dip it as close to 2mm as possible, or get 22mm ID copper tubing and form the bead right on there with a layer of clear as a buffer, then cut and polish after the fact.
You could create the bead on top of this 25x1.5 (https://www.abrimagery.com/store/product_info.php/simax-25mm-15mm-clear-tubing-p-98818?osCsid=6f6fab5103145a16619fd6d8877f86e6), then cut and polish after the fact
