this dude was soo awsome .. remember when I won the messiest bench contest . and then insted of a messy bench contest .. it became a who needs a torch the most contest.. so then I lost ..and threw a fit .. ? well this ray fellow . .shipped me a national 6b . .with a 12 hole tip . as a condolence prize .. I was supposed to clean my shop .. but That never happened really .. now I Gotta do it .. Thats Ray I didn't know you in real life at all .. but you shure knew a messy bench when you saw it .. and even seemed to understand how it could work for some people . Ray was a nice enough dude to send a total stranger a torch .. I feel like I gotta try to clean my shop now .. I have this wierd thing with making promises to the dead.

I never told Ray this but he doesn't live far and ive always hoped one day wed both be good enouf to colaborate together on something, or at least melt together sometime. I really think we really would have clicked and been buddies. Thanks for making this world a little brighter while you were here. R.I.P

I hung out with Ray at AGI 2015 and 2016, and he really loved the glass community. Talk Glass and AGI were really important to him (and I can relate..). Last year he contributed a nice set of rollers to the raffle at AGI, and i wanted to make sure i thanked him (I thought it was a really nice thing to offer up). He ended up having left before AGI was over, and just last week i thought about how i should shoot him a message and thank him, because I never did. RIP Ray, we're going to miss you buddy.

Wow, tragic. Always enjoyed his thirst for knowledge, which in turn helped us others along the way.

Rest in peace dude.

damn I have missed a lot of stuff in my absence but this one really sucks.
I met ray at agi and he was as genuine as they get. I showed him some basics of shaping a spoon and he was so thankful and receptive.
I lost my dad ,and both my stepmothers in a 6 week period earlier this year and it has really opened my eyes to the little time we have on this earth.
don't assume tomorrow will be here for you. make the most of today... and tell your family and friends how much they mean to you.
you will be missed Ray, RIP bro
