I think you'll want an agreement in writing (and signed). What does 'foot the bill' cover....materials, gases, electricity?....do they expect you to work certain hours?.....who gets the sale from what you make?.....etc.
Ithink in this situation (I am chiming in because I also have a shop wanting to do this and I know Nicko) the shop is gonna cover everything.... The store that wants to pull this same move with me also wants to cover everthing. These shops have established longevity and done business with us for years. So its not about the shop or the resources of the shop etc. How do you get it done with out getting shut down, or interrupting the busness of the shop, or the safety of the customers in the shop. I know that Mke Astral Moore (?right name?) is in british columbia canada and his shop is owned by and inside of a smoke shop. I will hit him up Nicko. We need to know what can go wrong and how to do it right from people that have done it in legal and nonlegal states. Good morning everyone

I don’t care what they do with the shop once it’s set up. It’s only going to cost me the effort of making it happen. I’m strictly focused on it being set up legit enough to not get shut down by the fire marshal. I do very much want to set it up as inexpensive and with the least help from ” professionals”. I’m not gonna have them hire and hvac guy to charge too much for a job they aren’t qualified for. All too often I’ve seen ppl higher a pro” to do the job and not only does the work not perform properly but isn’t code and the customer still actually paid for the work. I’ll probly have to hire a union plumber tho, I can’t see a way around that. No electrician tho, since I think we can avoid having to put in any wiring( I do all these trades well, just need that inspection to go right, which, until we find a sneaky way around, elec and plumbing has to be done by a guy with a piece of paper).

I’ve heard oxy and propane have to be kept in cages. And some minimum distance apart. A certain degree of plumbing must be hard pipe, like thru the walls. Really I’d like to see the codes so I can be sure about not paying whatever dumbass that I have to hire to the work when they do it wrong.
