I have some large-ish polished white opals. Too big for me to use as is. Can I crush these and get sorta the same look?

Its much better to buy crush if thats what you need. Crushing it up yields fine powder i find. You need good equipment or knowledge too i'd imagine.
how much do you have? I might buy them off ya if you want.
I will trade you 1/2 the weight in crushed for your whole opals. That is heavily in my favor price wise, but I have less use for them, and your just gonna waste your shit. for one crushing boro into frit is a hell of a job with specialty tools required, and opals are basically quartz I think

well that's not nice! I'd consider my offer of cash and buy your own crush before that offer.

right! ^ op, as always, it pays to buy in bulk, any time i have bought over 100 dollars worth of stuff from profound, they hook it up with extras.
my buddy buys in larger quantities and they really hook him up!

Thanks for the info TMPeeps!
not really when you know the guy is likely to just ruin his materials, and if he succeeds, pics or it didnt happen,

Thanks for your offer, Swim, but I've decided not to crush them (sounds iffy at best anyway and I don't want powder) and made other plans for them. Just going to order a gram with the next glass order, and if I like them, hit up Profound. Really good selection there.
At least crush one or break it or some kind of experiment... :/

Profound does free shipping if you buy 49$ or more of stuff. To Canada even!
have you tried it? I did a gram or two. Messy. You get some dust, some big chunks.
