Hey guys i've met a few of you on here and it's an amazing place to learn so thank you. These days when i'm not behind the torch i'm thinking about how to get there and how to improve. I am a mailman by day with 3 little boys and have taken on lampworking as a jobby. Not looking to set the world on fire but i believe it will pay off eventually. Either way its alot of fun.
One of my customers from my day job has spent the last 3 Christmases in the hospital and goes in for mnths at a time due to brittle diabetes, stomach infections and pneumonia. He also had a stroke recently and lost feeling in some of his fingers. He was given 2 yrs to live 9 yrs ago and told me the only thing that allows him to eat and feel ok is smoking. He had this tiny pipe that was burning his fingers and turning them black bc he can't feel the pain.
I ended up taking the dozen or so decent pieces i've made so far to him and let him take his favorite ones that would work better. He was really happy about this and picked out 2. I can't think of a better way to start out with my work and i just wanted to share that with people that understand. Much Love.
