hi Im just here to announce that I am going down to Guelph, Ont. for an interview at LaSalle Science for a postion as an apprentice.

I have been flameworking for a year now, I am pretty much self taught. I discovered that working as an artist is great, but it dosn't pay the bill so I wanted to take on glass blowing as a trade and work on my art on the side.

I tried to get a job there a few months ago but they told me they already had an apprentice, so I just told them I'll try to go back to school (Salem CC) for it. After a show I did on Canada Day I recieved a call If I was going back to school or still interested in the job.

Im going down to Guelph on Monday for an interview so Im hoping it will go well.

thats great, good luck man.

I wish I could find a job like that around here. I myself also had to get a jog as a goldsmith to pay the bills.

Good luck! It is a great place to work from what my one student Pete says. He worked for them for two years before he tired of it and quit.

hope it all works out. im thinking about persuing it in school and turning it into a career. the long and short term benefits, from my perspective, definatly outweigh pipemaking as a career

Hey Brian did you live in Guelph? And did you ever find any glassblowers out your way?

I just left Kitchener, I was there for 7 years or so. I taught a few people, plus there were a few who learned elsewhere. There is a few down in London. You should look up Pete, he works for Twisted in Kitchener now. I will try to find the # for you.
