They are my absolute best friends in the whole world!

I've been working with them for the past three years, but I decided to take this year off. I still pitch in though when it's needed. I needed a break....especially after the nightmare that happened while we worked the booth at The Haymaker Fest last year.

So I've been on my own seling this summer, but still was able to see dozens of shows/festivals. WOOHOO! Their booth would probably be a great meeting spot at some point this weekend. :D

It's held at a Biker place called The Indian Lookout or something like that. The bikers do all the security. No cops, but they are pretty strict on the "illegal" vending scene. Not much of a shakedown there....but a really great time and I'm sure you would make some sales, it's just not like bonnaroo where everybody's selling something.

Ya its mad chill. Once your inside the gates. The bikers do search EVERY ONE'S car. Glass bottles fireworks and weapons are mainly what they are looking for.
You can get away with swinging small time glass as long as you are cool about it.
as far as getting in trouble goes if you don't fuck with any one or do any thing bad there is nothing to worry about there. No pigs on site or even any where around the place most years. Its the one place that the staff is there it make sure every one has a good time and enjoys there self rather then just tring to rain every ones good time.. (Its defintly not Like S.P.A.C. man thats for sure.)
tix are still avalable on credit card $129 but with tax and some other charge its like $135, but you have to get them at will call. If you want cash and carry you got to go to FYI on central ave in albany or the mariaville gen store.

man, i think thats one of the few places on earth you can actually observe bikers in their native environs
any of you cats there when dude who looked like frank zappas maori cousin chased the running coward thief with his hog through the camp ground and tents? i mean literally through the tents.
he was chasin the kid on the road, kid cuts up through where folks are campin, guy on bike follows. he would've nailed the guy but got caught up in some guys tent.
when they got it outta the chain, theres was this crowd of like 20 security and biker dudes corralin biker guy from the scene, they surrounded him on his bike (note: do not attempt to remove disgruntled biker from mount) and led him away like some not yet beaten rabid buffalo, crazy shit

Got back last night. Tho the bikers where way way out of line this year. I still had the best time ever tho regardless of any of the BS we had to go threw.
Morgan,John and J it was cool meeting up with you guys.
Melanie sorry I never did get a chance to meet up with you. I stoped at the booth a few times when you where not there then. then next thing I knew It was sunday and time to go. man time does fly when having fun and not geting much sleep. :-)

yeah getting in was REDICULOUS im definitely not sure if im going back again. They really were way out of line, last year wasnt nearly as bad. music was amazing though. keller and bob weir playing together was really cool and burning speir as always was a great time. I was hoping to run into some of you guys...you all must have been hiding

Yea I wanted to go, but I opted to hit up 2 nights of The Rythem Devils in Burlington. I know they were suppose to play the Vibes. But I wanted to catch the first shows and the chance to meet the boys. I feel made the right choice. I hung around the back of Higher Ground after Thurs. show. Billy comes walkin out... He is the chillest. I had a good talk about the "new bad", Mike's and Steves playin, and practices at Treys barn. Had him sign my hat! As soon as the hat got signed I was told kindly to leave by back stage gards. Damn close to seein Mickey.... next time ... I bet the Vibes was the SH*T. hope you all had fun!

sounds like you did make the right decision it was pouring and thundering like crazy for the rythm devils and ratdog...oh well at least it was sunny for ol burning spear. I got to chat with him for a little bit on Sunday which definitely made my weekend
