Having just moved from southern Ontario to a village of 350 people, I need to be creative to make sales. Bingo is big with the ladies here, and I want to make dabbers. The only part that is giving me trouble is a lid to keep them from drying out. The one idea is ground glass fittings, the other is to find a cap that fits the plastic dabber insert.
A dabber tip fits perfectly in the end of a 24/40 male joint, but extends out beyond the diameter of the small end of the grinding. I figure a 24/29 female should fit over top, and work to make a lid from. This would bring the materials cost up to around $20 Canadian each, and I would prefer to keep the costs down. I going to try to make one that will have a flange at the opening for the dabber tip big enough to put one of those water bottle caps on (the clear ones that go on the bottles with the pull out nipples).
What I would really like to find is a cap that will fit snugly on the outside of the plastic dabber tips, so I only have to worry about the inside diameter of the opening, and not the outside of the flange as well. If you want to use my Idea, just let me know how you make your lids.
