Just checked his status....It looks like he hasn't been here in a month. I don't think he's posted in even longer.

....Hopefully he is not burning you.

i need a pyrometer...BAD....its a temporary problem cause i have an aim1316 sitting here but its wired for 220 and my shop unfortunately is not....i am getting it wired soon but right now loot is tight..next month will be not so tight..trimtrimtrim..im sorry for being slow, but it is not from lack of effort, more so a lack of technology.you should still EXPECT a mib cause i had no intention of ever flaking and i made marbles for this project, they just didnt come out. again i am sorry.

it takes about 10 minutes to tie 2 110v circuits together for 220v.

A lot of peep don't know that 220 is just that easy. Also seems mysterious and strange to someone that don't know How that all works.
Don't know if dude knows about electric or not.

Sol made me a sweet double hookah with 5 i/o wet whips. After he made it he fedexed it, exactly 4 days after my order.

You can only do that if your two 110V lines are out of phase. Otherwise, you just end up with a big fat 110V rail. Google for more info.

harp are you being funny? i dont recall any hoooo-kahs?i think you may have me mixxed with someone else.....huh? its not my house and i dont have permission to go fiddlin with the electric box,i have hired an electrician to rape my wallet and now all is well in the house of annealing.well as of tuesday it will be...now my buddy says a 220 needs to be 4 wires and you can do that by either combining two pieces of wire, or buy a specific 220 line..is that true cause i already have 250 feet of wire and i dont wanna drop another 140 for another roll.

...220 is usually a 4 wire combination of 2 110 leads. google it and you can find out more info. depending on what gauge the wire you have it might be suitable.

i have a 220 socket i want to undo and make it into 2 110 lines, even 1 110 line would work for me but i dont know how to do it without googleing for instructions

the gauge is the right size and i checked to make sure that i wasnt running it too long...everything seems to be in order..i cant wait to fill this kiln up and not have anything slump or get squirmy on me

Sol......
I HEAR YOU MAN -

I am having the exact issue with my new kiln!
Just had the kiln repair guy out to the shop yesterday - he told me that I prolly need to call an electrician to come out and run an extra line out to my shop -now...just last month i had my brother-in-law try to hook it up for me & he said that he did - he installed the plug and the Fuji controller screen reads that it's on - but the damn thing never heats up beyond the room temp - I let it sit on for an hour and the temp never changed - well it cooled off 2 degrees - but that's just what happens at night :P *when I rented this place it HAD a 220 plug allready here; when we were re-doing my shop & hooking in the new big A/C unit he took the 220 plug out and hooked the A/C directly to the 220 on the box* (i think - don't quote me coz i don't understand electricity - it scares me) but from what the kiln repair guy said he did not do it right - that i need all new wiring and an additional line run that's devoted soley for the new kiln - i've had the damN thing 4 months now and have still not been able to use it - and now needless to say it's going t0 run me around $800 more to be able to . grrrrrr-cheese

Hey Shane,
If you don't get it worked out, I can probably take care of that 220 issue for you...I've run a number of 220 lines, most recently hooking up a line for the same model kiln and a 3 way switch for my 220 blower...self-taught but I can get it done. Anyway, I'll be down in the Bay Area (assuming you are still in the same town) later this month, so if your shit falls through, just PM me...I could stop in and help you out if need be. Hope you get it worked out.
