Hello

I'm a fellow lampworker from Vancouver Canada. I ordered a Deluxe foot pedal From Smutboy420 (thats his handle around here) He has a business at hotasstools.com. This pedal was ordered a long time ago and still has not arrived. I contacted him weeks ago and said nicely where is my pedal... He then told me it was shipped and would be there soon. Once the pedal did not arrive I contacted him for a tracking # He then said that he had messed up the shipping and he would send another out asap. This has been weeks and weeks. Now I emailed him 3 days ago and told him I wasn't happy and he should call me and we could figure this thing out. No reply so I have spent over 400 Canadian dollars and have waited way way too long for my pedal.... SMUTBOY 420 I"M CALLING YOU OUT!! where's the pedal??? I want it as of yesturday. I'm so bothered it has come to this!!!

The 2 n'd pedal was shipped on the 23rd wich I had emailed you at the time to let you know.
I sent you the tracking # on the 29th 3 days ago when you contacted me.
I also had said I could not call you 2 give you the tracking # at the time because I did not have the cell phone with me right then.

I have no control over how long it takes the mail to get to you once I ship it.
if you did not get my emails back to you I'll pm you the tracking # again so you can see I have sent it.

The framus converter? unicorn horns? They haven't used unicore horns in them in a long time. They use chips made of petrfied dyno poop now. SSFC Solid State Framus Converters.

I just hope the big bag of stincky nug I included with the pedal makes up for any latenes once it does arrive.

I am glad you got it worked out. Skull, smut has been around here since the dawn of time, and never screwed anyone over. 6 years of a good track record counts for a lot, so gonna close this thread out of respect to him. You can PM him to further discuss shipping with him, which is what should have been done in the first place. Thanks :)

well i will voice my opinion now, first i got my pedals, every valve leaked, sent them back, next set leaked, and it took 2 + weeks to get back, so i bitched he called me dood three times on the phone and told me thats not how he rolled, so im laughing next set gets hear they work so far but my cobra one is already shooting the shit it takes 5 seconds for the gas to completely shut of. im going to throw the thing in the trash and call scott. this was several months ago and ive never said a word, but now that the cobra pedal is already giving me problems, i have to say somethin. I just wanted to give my review . but im laughing no hard feelings im sure there are people out there that havent been happy with me.

smutboy420

You got the first of the few deluxe pedals that had non brazed connections on the bypass valves. You got em replaced and I also tracked down the others that where still out and about. that still had non brazed fittings on the bypasses. So any of the leaking bypass pedals are fixed. If there has ever been a problem with a pedal I fix it 'cause ya that IS HOW I ROLL! I don't leave any one hanging.

You tell scott (the person you ordered the pedals threw.) to tell me every thing is all fine with your pedals. WTF!!! If you have a problem and say you don't how am I supposed to fix a problem if I'm being told there is not one?

As far as the extra long hose on the pedal that you have now taking a long time to shut off. Well hey I told you how to solve that problem.

Why don't you also tell every one how you went around telling pepole I took your $ and never resent you a new pedal. never said a word about me replacing them at all. or refunding the shipping cost. You just made it out like I took your $ and never heard a word back from me. (long after you aready had your pedals back.)
???? After you had told scott you where stocked to have the new pedal and it working fine.
So I don't know what to tell you. and nect time if you don't want any one to address you as dude don't address me with dude first.

NOTE: to any one else. If you buy a pedal from me and there is something wrong with it and you tell me there is not. I have no ideal of knowing if there is something wrong if you don't tell me.

BTW nick If you are so unhappy with your pedals.
Please just bring em back to scott and get a refund then.

ill im saying is ive been unimpressed from the start and still am. when i said i was calling scott i meant griffen for a new pedal. sure people make mistakes i know i do. if i told someone you stiffed me im sorry i was probably pissed from waiting over a month to finally get a working pedal. and yes i did warn a few people of my problems with your product wouldnt you if there safety was in question. and i did try to get my money back from you and you didnt offer that at all. so i hooked my torch straight up to the pedal and it still takes a long time to shut off. btw james i would never called you dude so dont try and turn that around, thats not how i roll, hahaha. that shits funny.

smutboy420
09-11-2006, 09:37 PM
Sorry about the scott mix up.
Dude you had every right to be pissed about a non proper working pedal.
You have every right to be bummed about getting a lemon pedal . But seriously if some one is pissed at me and won't tell me some thing is wrong Its hard to fix the situation and make things right.
I told you when you wanted a refund thats all cool BUT!!! that you bought your pedals threw Scott R. and I just got to let him know and I will work it out with him. and you where all like no he's my friend and wanted me to give you a refund. Sorry you can scream from the roof tops that I'm a dick head for that. But thats how it works sorry.

I've also have been pretty open to any one That a few of the first bypass pedals had some inishial pronlems with the soldered fittings and they now have silver brazed fittings.
I even went and tracked down the others that where out there and replaced the soldered fittings. I do actully care about having a quality product. and I was freaking out the whole time. till the last faulty bypass pedal was sent back home to get re fitted.
They also all get pressure tested now.

But if some one don't want to get some thing fixed or go threw the proper chanels to get there $ back. I don't know what other soultion I could offer you. So I had to chalk you off as just one of them things thats going to happen. The law of #'s

I knew the 2'nd time in a day that I steped in our neaibers dog crap when going to the garage. while making your pedal. That it felt like a bad omen. I guess I should of listened to my inner voice.

ok one more question if you cant have long hose to your torch then why isnt there a mounting system to prevent this. just an idea. i told noone you were a dick. im thru with this conversation because we can both justify our actions in our own heads.

somberbear
09-12-2006, 05:46 AM
..... what kinda mounting system could you build... short of cutting the hoses for you?

.... this problem has been adressed several times... and is fairly logical... minus mounting them straight to the torch barbs i dont see how your lines effect the opertion of the product...

as for the leaks... i dont have a by pass so i dont know that situation... so no comment.

smutboy420

BTW when I said you can tell every one I was a dick that was a suggestion, not saying you did. But I don't want to get in to semantics.

You should be able. To go normal lengths on the hose like 6-8 feet before getting any kind of lag.
If you valve is still not closing right. or not closing all the way at all. Then there is an obstruction in the valve seat and it needs to have the hose taken off and most of the time a shot of compressed air blown back wards threw the valve will blow it out.

I had heard threw the grape vine that the lag problem had gone away and was no longer giving you a problem. So I dint think it was happing still and concluded it was an obstruction that worked its way out.
Being that its been 6 months or so. the obstruction "May" have lodged its self in the valve seat By now. If compressed air don't clear it.
In which case I can send you a new valve plunger and spring. ( I might have some printed instruction sheets that show how to swap the plunger out. I got to look around. But I have it on good word from someone that knows you that says your inclined enough with a wrench or screw driver to be able to complete the task.)

But just so you know.
When you where having the problem and I was asking you on the phone if it was going out at all but taking a long time to shut off. or if it was staying open. I was trying to diagnose the problem not trying to find fault or find a reason to not cover you.

Even if a safe dropped on it and crushed it I would probably still of covered it under the warranty. But I'd still ask how the heck did that happen. :-)
or if a problem I never seen before I'd want to know what caused it so I know. Incase it was something that could be changed if needed. Not to go ah ha! so you did such and such or so and so, So its your fault.
Tho there are Co's that would do that. and find anyway to get out of a warranty.
But thats not me. thats not how I run a business. When I told you I'm not like that at all I was being 100% serious.

im thru with this conversation because we can both justify our actions in our own heads.

The difference is how it looks to the rest of us.

BTW, I've got the deluxe model. It's one that was high pressure tested. I've had no problems at all. I can't imagine working without it. It seems like smutty wants to make your problem so it's not a problem...maybe you should let him so you're just as happy with your pedal as I am.

Yes, I was a bit nervous because the shipping took longer than expected. But I figured that I would rather have it right more than fast. SInce I got it, the time was never even an issue because the operation was excellent.

Just to give some advice, as I have been doing shipping for the last 5 years, I used to live in Vancouver and shipped mostly within Canada and the USA, but also all over the world. We used UPS, and our packages arrived in 3 to 4 business days to anywhere in Canada and USA. Shipping to Australia (where I live now) takes a week, literally as I order all the time now from Canada and it arrives in 7 days.

UPS is a great company IMO, especialy if you do alot of shipping as they give you for free software that automates everything and is easily interfacable with a website so customers can figure out shipping costs and look up tracking numbers on their own and recieve their tracking number via email automatically when the package is shipped. Plus if your doing a certain amount of business, UPS will give you a barcode scanner, label printer and electronic scale that hooks to your computer all for free and make the entire process very easy.
