Hey everyone around the bay area I'm going down there on Friday and I'm trying to set up some appointments. I've set up a few so far from the yellow pages online, but for some reason it's only showing one store on Haight st and I know there's tons more than that. I don't really know my way around SF, I haven't been down there in like 6 years.
It's also showing stores in Anaheim as "surrounding areas" which I know is nowhere close at all.

So if any locals around there can tell me some good stores to try to set up appointments with or also stores I should stay away from I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Oh feel free to pm if you don't want it out in the open.

thanks ahead of time,
Adam

I sell glass at Pipe Dreams on the Haight, also Distractions I hear is a good place. Thoise are the last two that are in it for the enjoyment of their type of business, the rest seem to be in it only for the money. if you know what I mean. I sell glass from Santa Cruz(about an hour and a half south), to Santa Rosa(about an hour north), so leave me a message if you want the lowdown on the good and not so good shops.

Good luck!
Bryan

Hey thanks a lot Bryan. I already have an appointment with Pipe Dreams and I called the guy at Distractions, he seemed really cool.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

I've only been out there once over a year ago, but I know there is a nice shop a couple blocks from haight/ashbury with a real cool old hippie that owns it cant remember the name, i just remember you walk in and there are cases of amazing head pieces on the left. I've also heard big al's in berkeley is a cool place and is the place to go in the bay area, but i've never been there.

the place a couple of blocks from Haight maybe is Nomads? Looked like an old hippy place when we drove by a couple of weeks ago. Big Als is good, but not for largfe orders, and Telegraph sucks now, a bunch of headshops that by imports and try to talk you down.
If you've got time, go check out The Mighty Quinn in Santa Rosa, they by everything I bring them whenever I go up there. They also have some pieces in the way over $1000 mark. Great shop.

I used to live in Oakland and sold to Zebra and Anapurna (dont know how it's spelled) up on Telegraph
Jedi is correct... they started buying imports and they will try to talk you down to 10.00 for a heddie... pretty crazy... but the street vendors buy at a fair price. we used to just go down to Telegraph Ave and just open up our case and sit on the corner, sold alot that way. but the street vendors get a little pissed at times because they have to pay a fee to sell. The Mighty Quinn is awesome! great stuff there

Update, Every store person that I had appointments with, not one showed. The guy from Distractions was sick though and he called me while I was walking around, I met up with him and he got almost half of my stuff. I walked out of the store only to find a nice present on the window, a $60 ticket! My girlfriend had parked in a loading zone, but the paint on the curb had worn off and there wasn't a sign. All there was was a sticker on the bottom of this pole that the meter was on, that I also happened to put about $5 in change in.

SO yay for Distractions, and everyone who works there. The rest of the stores in San Fran can suck a @*#$*& with a #*&^#*&$ * on fourteen $*#&*&$#* then take that and stick it in your #$**& and then rub it in with dryer lint and brussel sprouts.

I'm fairly disappointed. I mean I know there's not a whole lot of professional people in this business, but still you could at least meet someone when you say you're going to since they're spending $4953948539 on gas. You don't even have to buy anything, just meet them and look at their stuff plz.

On another note earlier, a distribution company that sounds similar to "paging whore" tells me to make a sample package for them and call back for the address to ship to. I call back and they can't afford a $100 sample pack? wtf kind of distribution is that, when I know the person who reffered me to them told them that my stuff sells better than anyone else's in BOTH of this guys stores....

damn, I needed to rant for a minute, I'm a little stressed.... orders are slowing down and my daughter's birthday is coming up in a couple weeks... anyways a big thank you to everyone who took the time to give me some advice on where to go, especially jedi for the distractions tip.... p.s. I did not get to make it to the Mighty Quinn 8( traffic sucks in sf...

Word, I should be glad I've been able to make it this long. Something always comes through in time. This whole year I've had a plethora of orders, some of them being weeks ahead of time due to all of what I've gotten. I should be happy for that.

i also work for "paging whore" and they just set up a new warehouse so they weren't buying for a couple weeks but they are going again now so you might give them another try. they usually rage.
peace, M

Yeah, that's kind of what I heard, except they were just setting up a new wharehouse and it'd be a couple months before buying, they told me this after the fact. I wasn't trying to talk too much shit. It just seemed like a kinda shitty and unprofessional thing to do imo, to tell someone to make a sample pack and call back to get the shipping address, then when I call they don't want it anymore..... if this big distro can't afford a $100 sample pack, then what kind of impression does that leave?

Then again, I was not being very professional ranting about it on here either. Like I said I wasn't having a very good day. The guy who reffered me to them told me they need consistent professional blowers with good products at good prices, and 98% of the time that's me.
