Who do you think comes the closest? I know Generations is really popular around here, Kristian (sp?) is pretty well known for customer service. . .
ABR Has an insanely wide selection, and from their website it appears they have teaching days, demos, etc. . .but it seems that some regard them as the Wal-Mart of glass supply houses.
Is Tom D.'s the perfect place? Not yet made it to AGI (or anywhere near that part of the US, for that matter), so I haven't seen it, but I've heard nothing but good things. If the way Tom is on this board is how he is in real life, I can see why everybody seems to go to neverland when they go visit Tom (as in, they never want to leave).
I won't even mention Sundance. . .dang, I guesss I did. . .
Some people really like arrow springs' tools, others won't buy anything cheaper than Jim Moore quality stuff. . .
In short, if there were a glass shop/high-end art gallery made exactly how you wanted it, what would it have? Where would it be (no, you can't have it in your house), that would be accessible for everyone? Is quality and speed of customer service more important than getting that color for $ .25/lb cheaper from the guy that sometimes has it, sometimes doesn't? Do you want a place that has every 4mm GA color available in stock at all times, as well as every other color under the rainbow? Do you want a shop that only carries Schott, or one that has everything from Boro-X to Schott and everything in between? Would they host lots of events? Are big name teachers important to you? Do you even care about that stuff when you're buying your glass, or are you down with Global Trading Style places that are fine to order from (for some people, but others don't like them) but if you go in person it's a horrid experience from a retail perspective?
I want to hear about everyone here's ideas before I give my opinion. . .
