So here I am stuck in Ontario canada, but i want to move back to BC.
Can anyone from BC tell me how much glass costs are there?
Here I pay about 5.50 per pound for clear, and 50 to 70 bucks a pound for color.
Oxy costs are around 250 per month.
I bought a house so I moved my studio into my garage, so no studio costs.
I used to live in Kamloops but would like to live more south than that.
Any info from BC blowers would be great.
Thanks
Jay

i went to school in ontario and i like it alot, but coming from the states any part of canada is more lax. Was suppose to travel to alberta and then to bc w/ my candian buddies but i got accepte to school for dec. Well good luck.
Well, there's only one source for clear out here, really. Which is Joanne Andrighetti (sp?). It's all Simax, and I have no idea what her prices are, poundwise. She does have a website, though (which is something like Andrighettiglass). However, she's a great pleasure to do business with.
As far as oxygen is concerned, I feel as though compressed prices are fairly high (around $26.00 per K tank) and liquid prices are fairly reasonable (I think a dewar is about $200?) if your consumption is high enough to warrant it. Then again, this is in Nelson, which is fairly isolated. Praxair was also unwilling to make deliveries for me, so dealing with them may end up being an issue. No idea what things may be like in the Kamloops area. Best of luck!

i order my glass from global trading most the time, have it shipped to a box in medalane just across the boarder then i pick it up
theres a guy out here trying to get abunch of people to go in on some simax to get wholesale hook ups.. as for oxy you can get big tank of liquid for 150-170ish or bottles for 25$-50$.. but ya colors pretty much the same price as what your paying

i order my glass from phatty glass out of Victoria, their prices are good. When i lived in Ontario i bought my tubing and rod from Pegasus glass out of Guelph. If you are thinking of coming back out i'd by some cases from them before i left.
I do find oxygen expensive here than ON. but i live in a small town so i'm sure that doesn't help my situation.
i'm not sure where you are in ON but there are some great blowers in London, Cambrige area. As well if you can get to Kitchener, there is a graphite manufacturer there, can't remember the name, but they end up throwing out all there scrap graphite, but it's perfect size for blowers. They charge you barely anything for it, or atleast they did about 3 years ago.

You can order glass from all the suppliers in the world from anywhere and there is way more than one source of glass in Canada never mind that in BC. Come on Din one source??. Global economy. I'm sure the glass scene out here is way larger than out in Ontario......... Jay way better glass out here man way better. West coast is the best coast. just tryin to stir the pot.

I buy glass from pegasus and nortel, and my color from nortel.
Peter and Jean at Nortel helped us alot when we started into this 6 years ago, they still help us lots.great people.
looks like for now I will have to be happy with lotsa BC breaks,I have friends in Kelowna and Van, so we get out there once a year or so.

Hey Jay, it's Speer Canada, not spears, and they have stopped letting people dig through the bin. So your leaving K-town too? That just leaves Chris(cats ass) and Twisted there, dosen't it? Anywho, howdy!
