I am trying to set-up my pressure in my regulators so I can work Boro. I usually work with soft glass so it isn't that important to get it perfectly right. Can you please let me know what the correct pressures are for the oxy and the propane that I can set my regulators to? I appreciate your help being so new to Boro work. I hope these basic questions are not too boring...lol,lol,lol!!!!!
Thanks
Rich

um.. it totally depends what torch you're working on... and.. there is no "perfectly right"
3-12 times the propane pressure for oxygen is a guideline =)

i learned to work 5pro and 20 o2 but i just took glass alchemy's color class and henry recommended 3pro and 40 o2. i think that he suggests this setting for most types of torches because he had all different types set up that way. apparently this burns the carbon more completely.
hope that helps, m

I just consulted with a freind as I was wondering the same thing, he said to go with 5 or 6 for propane and 30 or 35 for oxy and i did that and my torch is working beautifully !

No shpit? 3 (as in "three") propane and 40 (as in "forty") oxygen! Dig-dang, that's quite a ratio.

that's right. i saw a demo with milon years ago where he ran these pressures but i thought he was crazy. i tried resetting my pressures this way after the alchemy class and it works great. i don't accidentaly reduce color anymore. i highly recommend the glass alchemy color certification class to anyone who can take it. for $150 i learned more tech info than any other class i've ever taken.
peace, m
