There is a guy on http://talk.craftweb.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=4
that uses one. Hard to build the burner I think. I tried to find his posts but no luck. Search around there a bit, his last post on it was not that long ago.

His name is Hugh Jenkins, and he is the guy in Hawaii. Still can't find his posts on it though.

I was talking to my brother in law at a wedding last weekend, he said a German guy told him about running a cooking stove off a biogas system from a septic tank, said an eight foot diameter tank would produce enough gas to run a small cooker. It has to have a domed top and take off at the top centre.

I was wondering what would happen if a blowback occurred and if everyone would get some.

Google> Babbington Burner

for burning waste oil, it seems even engine oil has a higher calorific value than propane and burns cleanly.

Hey all i might be of some help here, i spend most of my days working on alt fuel cars and busses, and have made some bio in the past.

There are a few stoves and furnaces that can be modified for biodiesel use. these are going to be your old heating oil run furnaces. usually these can be modified to run on diesel, bio-diesel, or Vegetable oil (svo) but usually take some modification.

check out these 3 forums
www.biodieselnow.com

and for fun www.greasecar.com

theyll be able to help you out alot

yeah i spend most of my day working with diesels and vegetable oil, and have 3 Greasecar conversions under my belt and alot of diesel expierence.

Anyhow, if youre looking to have a batch furnace or kiln powered by this stuff that might be possible as well...

People have been running Kerosene Torpedo style heaters on Bio and vegetable oil, they have to be the kind that start with a glow plug, not a spark ignition for some reason.

Also the main thing to worry about when working with any type of vegetable oil, is that its so damn thick. On any car running vegetable oil (that is going to last over a month) has the oil heated to about 160F before it hits the engine, otherwise it wont combust properly...

heres a link to some diesel stoves burners and heaters, most of the stuff that youll find like this has a marine application, so if youre looking to build somthing, online boat shops are a good place to look
