I just recently became aware of these programs. I think that they might just do the trick to keep track of work, invoices, etc., but I'm hunting for user feedback. WorkingArtist seems like it would be the best, but unfortunately, it only comes in a PC version, and I just happily made the switch to Macs. I could run Virtual PC, but I have heard not-so-great things about it. Plus, it generally seems like a pain in the ass to use a PC emulator to use a program that would be such a big part of my business. Anyway........ Any ideas?

If you just want tracking, you could just use a spreadsheet... It's not as cool as a data base, but you can sort any column by any parameter and actually search it. If you wanted to create invoices you are probably out of luck.... If you have MS OFFICE version for MAC or something similar, you could develope your own data base with ACCESS....

So what good is your mac now besides an overpriced web browser? Unless you're running something like Protools?
Besides, didnt Mac just announce they're switching to Intel soon?

im not sure ive heard of either program, but as a response to doug.... my powerbook was the best investment ive made other than my delta.. ive never had any problems no crashing no virus issues... photoshop, illustrator, i movie, and a whole bunch of other programs perfect.. sure there a little more pricey.. but theres no need to bust someones balls for the comp they choose.. homeboy was only asking a software question .
lovin my overpriced web browser

Damn, Doug, that is kind of harsh.... I got this computer because my old laptop sucked ass. In fact, there was a class action lawsuit against Toshiba for my model of notebook. The Mac is super stable, and currently I've got no worries with spyware or viruses. The user interface is super intuitive - so much more so than a PC. It's just easier to use..... It is still very new to me, so I still haven't got all of the software that I want/need. It's not just an over-priced browser. Plus, the price was pretty close to what a comparable PC would be..... if I have to defend myself.
Anyway..... here are the links to the programs that I'm talking about -

wow, it does look like the missing link for artists. I would be very interested to hear any feedback if anyone has used the program. i wonder if its compatable with any tax software as well, i breezed through the info but didn't see anything like that.

lol, no harm meant, please dont read too deep...
PC vs. Mac is like GTT vs. Herbert Arnold.... you like what you like.
Still tho, the mac/PC debate is probably 100x more involved than anything we can come up with :P
FWIW, at one time I was certified to repair macs, and I've always built PCs. Macs have their place in the world, but it's shrinking, and now that they're going to an Intel platform, that market will get smaller and smaller.
As for being spyware and virus free... you're not 100% safe, infact you're not much safer than a PC user... Apple does better damage controll when a virus comes out that affects Macs, for one thing they are quick to squelch any media reports that might damage their trade names.
I concede there's not even close to the volume of virii/malware you see with PCs, but it's out there and the chances are still pretty good you'll get infected if you're not careful.
Any-ways.
Peace

Well, "PC" (aka "windows".. isn't saying PC a bit outdated ?) vs Mac aside...
and by the way, whether the CPU is intel or ppc is irrelevant since the point is windows vs. macOS (which is really a fancy front end for unix now)....
If you want to stay virus free, it doesn't matter which you use.
Just DON'T USE OUTLOOK!!

Use outlook, just configure it correctly, and have a hard ware firewall. I have a friend who just got a virus on a mac, and he's a smart mac user too, runs his shit proper.
I say PC too, it's shorter. :tongue2: Oh and Steve, my PC will eat that Mac for snack! Muahahahah! ;)
