Hey Guys and Gals,

I just wanted to give everyone a friendly heads up. I'm not into mudslinging, at least I havent been since the blackboard days, but I have received a number of concerned telephone calls from clients who had asked me to explain what is the deal with Eigenschaft.

I spent a lot of time defending the company in the past, that campaign has long been over. Some of you have been burned by them ie: the thread about DHL coming after people because Eigenschaft never paid their shipping bills etc... Some people have been burned out of finished product, some people have been mislead as far as what they are getting, some people, myself included, have been burned out of thousands of dollars by them.

The current story they are slinging is that their glass is made by Schott's sister company in Poland. :dieslaugh I can assure you from the contacts I have inside Schott, that they have no sister company in Poland. And Simax wouldnt touch Eigenschaft with a 10,000 foot pole. There are no other large downdraw processes capable of making large bore heavywall tubing with the exception of the following:

Schott
Simax
Borosil (ex Corning plant in India)
UST
Chinex
Kimble
Uvaki ( Japanese company now making Corning)

I have the invoices from China to Eigenschaft for second quality glass that was rejected by our company. Eigenschaft is bringing in bulk packs of domestic quality Chinese tubing, hand firepolishing the ends and reboxing it. Some people are actually buying it and are under the impression that it is the same stuff as before. It isnt.

Don't get fooled, watch your glass and especially watch your $$$$.

I am available to answer any other questions about this. Let the flaming begin.

Buying seconds, Adam...are you sure? Someone from Eigenschaft called me today and said he wanted to send me samples. I asked where the glass was being pulled and he said in Europe, but couldn't tell me where.

Why do you think that they can't tell you where? Because they are lying. It strikes me as funny that a company that went down in flames (literally) with deception would choose deception as a way to try and get back into the market. My suggestion if they call is to remind them that they still owe you guys more then $2000 and ask if they paid their DHL bills.
