The topic says it... Anyone done this?
Any reason I shouldn't try it?
My my lines froze solid over the last 2 nights, and my reservoir was all slushy!
I hope no permanent damage was done.

ive done it for years works great. i have a big 25 gallon tub or so that i fill every fall i dump some anti freeze in. in the summer i use a bit of bleach keeps the water from getting nasty. also keep your pump running all the time helps with the freezing. have a great holidays peace brett

ditto on using antifreeze.. works great. i use almost pure antifreeze, and i haven't had problems with bacteria/mold growing. when i dilute it with water, it grows mold.
don't let it freeze again! mine froze and cracked, and leaked out of the cooling jacket collar.. luckily it was an external leak, so some epoxy sealed it up nicely.
i sometimes use an electric heating pad, and wrap that around the torch at night.. it likes it.. =)

Just a reminder that anitfreeze not only kills animals but attracts them. So keep those lids on tight if you don't want to shut down fido's liver.

ah, quite true yahoo. and, if you keep the antifreeze there through summer (no reason not to, it helps raise the boiling point as well..) make sure your lid is vapor tight.. breathing the vapors isn't good for you either.
if you ingest it.. sure.. get help. if you don't want to, get drunk.
antifreeze isn't poisonous in and of itself.. your body converts it into a poison. if you have enough alcohol in your system, the same biological process that normally converts the antifreeze into the bad stuff will be too busy processing the alcohol to convert the antifreeze.
i think getting you drunk is what they do in hospitals.. after they pump your stomach and whatever else.. at least.. that's what they said in school =)

there's a product called glycol that you can get at any plumbing and heating supply that is made for hot water heat systems. They come in 5 gal buckets might be convienent that way as far as it getting moldy.
