Elaine and I were born and raised in New York, and always wanted to live in the country. We had a couple of customers visit our store a couple of weeks ago, and they parked in front of the Moretti building. Here's their transportation... something we never would have seen back on Long Island:

I guess we need a hitching post in front of the store now!

Sweet, Wonka. Have u seen the bear lately??
I'm not from NY or anything, but the other day I heard a crunching noise next to me at the torch... and looked down to see a Very large brownish turtle that looked like he'd been hanging with too many baseball players. He was all beefcake with spikes all over his arms and shell. I fed him turkey and hes come back every day since... And a bald eagle flew 12 feet over my head the other day! cool.
Thanks for sharing. Hope you dont mind me adding to the zoo.

If you lived in Brooklyn you would see horses all the time, as long as you were up at 2:00 in the morning.

Hey why not? They look cool even if they don't ever get used much.
I live in a city and there are 4 houses on my street that still have the orignal hitching posts out front.

Maestro- The bear is doing just fine. He’s still blowing glass on Long Island and… oh, wait- wrong bear!
Yes, your furry friend is still alive and kickin’. He (she?) raided the bee keeper’s boxes down the road and ate about 100 pounds of honey. Elaine also saw 2 baby bears playing in the game lands across the road from Big Don’s while she was walking the dogs.
Hey Joe- Is that how you guys get your deliveries in Bklyn now? Boy, times have changed since I left!

great photos, i think a hitching post will add a great feel to the front! when i was a kid i dreamed of living in a town where horses were the main mode of transport.
its still a cool idea:)
