I was wondering if anyone ever gets a haze on their glass when they stretch it sometimes?? I did my first I/O tubing pull a couple days ago using 50mm HW tube and when I pulled it out, the entire thing hazed over on the surface. Once I remelt it, the haze melts away, so I guess it's not a huge deal, but I've had it happen other times too. A couple times on a piece when I was just stretching the middle section, so it left a scuff on the surface when I was done.

Anyone else have this problem? It doesn't happen to me all the time, but mainly seems to happen on I/O stuff. Any ideas on how to prevent it would help me out a lot.

Thanks!

Its from not working it hot enough , not letting the heat penetrate . I used to have (sometimes still a little) have the same problem . Then it moved to be inside showing up almost like checking would . After finding out what the deal is I have a whole lot less problems with it .

This is not really related but can you fire polish stretch marks off your wife? Just checking. :D

Nice... seriously tho I think certain brands are more devit prone than others. Single peices like spoons or bats hardly get devit, but sectional stuff that gets worked a lot devits more often. Kimax devits on me more than simax I think.

I do have cheap crappy chinese glass. It's sunsillica from Sundance. And I'm not sure it was because I didn't work it hot enough, because when I pulled that tube, I raged it molten for a little while before I pulled it. But who knows, I sure don't. I just know I don't want it to happen. Hopefully I can figure it out.
