...i was watching christmas tech on history channels modern marvels. there was a segment on tree lights and ornaments.
they showed a guy in a furnace shop making an ornament with an optic mold then switched to a torch worked one and identified the process as lampworking.
it was only about 5 minutes worth but if you want to see it they will probably rerun it.
