whats the worst town/state for glass blowers, i.e ( no shops, bad laws, bad cops, no local places to buy supplies etc......) I'm sure there is a lot of ya out there that travel and have ran across some not so glass blower friendly places, post your experience here so others will be well in formed of the situation.

The worst... the absolute worst..?
I reason that the folks that have encountered 'THE WORST' wouldn't be here to tell the tale, as they are in the Gulag a result of their experience, where they are subjected to frequent torture by an angry bald man with barbed wire and car batteries.

it sux here in fl, everybody wnats nice american made pipes or styles but want to pay import price,
its really hard to sell a headdy peice for 100.00 , remember when a nice i\o spoon used to be 100.00
or 90.00 lol .
its crazy to think ppl used to pay that for a one peice bowl but nowadays ppl wont spend 100.00 ona
nice dry hammer with a few reversals and marbles.

South Dakota, by far the worst of all the places I've been. 1st off, any piece that has a carb hole is para. even if its still clean. 2nd is that manufacturing para. is a felony....1 felony per piece. 3rd is distribution of para. is a felony...1 felony per piece.
On th upside there is NO shops and NO other bloewrs that I know of in the entire state. Been working on the down-low for 5 years and still gettin same prices I did back then. :rollin

Well, NC is wierd, our cheap export is tobacco, but it appears tobacco accessories are illegal... I think NC should up the ciggarette tax $2 a pack here... we have the lowest "tobacco" tax anywhere in the US, and we have to cut medicaid benifits to make a budget. Plus we are run by shitty christians who gestopo there "morals" apon everyone, so a lottery is "gambling". no lotto, fuck the kids and there education. But keep tobacco cheap!! Get cancere, but we are sorry, you get no medical benifits, so I hope you like dying, as long as you allow a christian procession, you are A-Okay!!! Viva la' hippocracy!!!

I'll second that. The worst part is (at least on the West River side) this place seems to be full of Ferengi. The Black Hills are a fabulous and beautiful place, and I recommend it for a vacation. However, when you do come here, keep hand on your wallet. When you do business with people here their attitude seems to be, "waddayawant, gimmeyermoney, NEXT!". Very sad really.

Look forward to meeting you. We are at 302 East Blvd. North. Look for the building on the east side of the street that says BEADS on the outside. We are in the same building with Moonshadow Beads. Our office and hotshop are in the back.

Whats with AZ I know 3 girls that I have been firends with in my life that got mixed up with controll freak guys that moved them to AZ.
only one ever made it back.
actully whats up with freak guys moving any girl away from home so they can control her?
Meghan had a friend named becky. becky's husband moved her Fl to controll her then after some time she left and came back to NY. well he tracked he down and kidnaped her and her new husband.
He took them both to Fl in the trunk of his car and once there murdered both of them. he now resides on death row in Fl.
He was really nice to her to. till they got married.

Don't become anouther becky.

Phoenix has generally sounded miserable to me in the past
. Any place hotter than Albuquerque on the summer : Don't live there. I'd recommend taking a bus to Durango.

Well, I'm sure most people will say whatever state they live in is the worst, but I'll add my vote for Virginia. I haven't had any problems legally (I do jewelry items mostly, no pipes) but there is no market for it here. In the last year, I've probably sold 5 things. Good thing glass is my hobby and my passion, but not my career...

Yeah, it's a shame when people use the guise of Christianity in their politics, but don't forget that Jesus was the first one to blast the religious hypocrite leaders of his day. . .

MN is not bad....we don't really have the supplies around us....the only thing that sucks about living way up here is that we don't have to many people to work with....you kinda end up in your own little world. South Dakota....sucks....would never even cross the border to sell....Iowa...same. We will just stay hidden in our little bitty town in the middle of the Iron Ore Mines........

If you want to head to Idaho for Hiking/biking, you have to check out the McCall area. I am kind of in my own glass world here so I would love to have a shop buddy for a couple of days and you can't beat the outdoors here.

Cosmo,
I agree, Northern Virginia is so white-bread and culturally dead! Unless I find some new people to hang out with.
