Thought this was cool. I like their heating system, very inventive. Anyone near there?

I was part of the furnace building crew, I designed the network infrastructure for the building, and I teach classes and blow glass there. And I live about 6 blocks from the museum.

The studios are to die for!

Marc, when you gonna come down and play? It's infinitely better than the dungeon we used to work in.

There's a total of about 44,000 sq ft of studio space, 2 furnaces - 1,000 lbs each and a total of 6 gloryholes. cold working shop, mold making shop, casting studio, cold glass shop, huge flameworking studio outfitted with about a dozen 'Cudas, sandblasting shop... just about anything you could ever want n a glass studio.

i live near it and just went and checked it out for the first time a couple weeks ago. i was a little dissapointed in the museum part being a lampworker.i was hoping to see more lampwork and also more modern glass. the studio looked sweet!!!!!! but it appeared you need to know someone to get into the whole studio beyond the furnace area.

I'm trying to line up some rental time on a regular basis. Its difficult finding six hours straight rental time for the hot shops that also fits my schedule. Looks like we might be in on Sundays. Really wanted to get in on Tuesday mornings and even Sunday has only three hour non-consecutive slots available. You'll see me and a crew in there soon.
